Hello every one
As a Board Guide new to this board I have to admit that all I "know" about my "rights" are what I "think" that they "ought" to be, and I'd guess that a fair few people are in much the same boat and, like me... mostly wrong.
So my question is - is there a need here for a set of helpful links that you guys regularly point posters to for advice, help, the law...?
Are there any good (brief) outlines of the main points that would quickly help new posters to decide if they need to ask for more help here (other than Martin's articles listed in the main sticky).
If the answer to any of those questions is yes... I'm going to need your help to put it together in a sticky.

Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Board guides are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an inappropriate or illegal post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. It is not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Any views are mine and are not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.

A common one that pops up is "I ordered a X item for £x and my money was taken by online company X is saying its a misprice/sold out, It was a bargain can I sue or order them to make up the difference"
http://www.out-law.com/page-394 I find helps clear them up, and advise them to read the T&C to state when a contract has been accepted (usually on delivery) and online companies are no more then large shop windows.0 -
Yes, that one. And the DSR.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Erm...that's the problem! People, including Board Guides now apparently, refuse to use the search function....why didn't you? DSR have been covered endlessly on this board yet you feel the need to ask...why did you not search or have a look at some recent pages...or Google...or THINK!0 -
I think there ought to be a sticky which states that free time only offers that you have to input your bank details into are ther eto take your money and wil do unless you cancel..
Too many gym/loan/mag subscription opportunities come up here that need to be addressed
though to be fair thats only after people have been caught outone of the famous 5

Hi, I've been away for quite a while - and the last time I was here the search system point blank refused to search on any word less than four letters.
Secondly, right now I have a huge amount of "stuff" to catch up on as quickly as I can (not least of which is how the board deals with rude and agressive posters these days) and if I stopped to "fully research" every single term used on the board I'd be too busy to be of any help at all for quite some time. So, at times, in these early days I will be asking rather than researching because it's quicker.
Thirdly, I was also making a deliberate point:- there are clearly lots of posters new to the subject asking for help - and throwing a whole buch of acronyms at them is not as helpful as it could be. In fact, easy links, brief explanations of common things, and a hit list of common terms used on the board is why I started this thread.
Of course, we don't actually need a helpful post such as that because everybody can research the whole darn subject for themselves. Something on formation of contract, invitation to treat, prices on the shelf etc would be quite useful too I think.

And something about whether you are entitled to refund/repair/replacement, and whose choice that is
