  • Morning all

Grey and rather windy here but no rain yet! Kinda hoping it stays this way cos if it's sunny like yesterday I will feel all :( cos I have to stay in and do uni work for at least a few hours.

My friend from Camp America is arriving tonight :j :jshe only lives in Birmingham (she is the one I stayed with after the OS meet last month) but I can't wait to catch up. She is arriving tonight and leaving Weds morning. Sadly I have to work but she wants some time to herself so she will have free rein of my flat whilst I'm at work. Depending on what time she arrives tonight we may get takeaway and have a few glasses of wine. She has been to visit family this weekend nearby so not quite sure what time she will get her but it will be evening.

So I need to finish the tidying! :o She is staying in my [STRIKE] junk[/STRIKE] spare room so I need to find somewhere to hide all the [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasures that are currently in there :rotfl:

So OSness today will be tidying, sorting, hoovering, putting laundry away, DW to go on and hopefully I'll have time to make a pasta bake.

    Have a good day all

    Good morning

Just the usual day in the house of Cranky today. We're going to an after christening party soon (I have master cranky and some other children that fidget and moan in church while the rest of the adults go to the actual christening). The cat has been sick twice so far, so I've cleaned that up in between trying to get ready and throwing packets of crisps and cookies at small people. Oh the joys.

My house was clean and tidy this morning after yesterdays efforts....until the cat was sick on the bathmat, so I've put all the bathmats in the wash. As we have now been invaded by small children, I can't see the "tidy" part of it lasting much longer either.

    Take care all of you.

    Good morning all

I feel skinny today :D which is quite a ridiculous thing for a woman of my size to say...but I do! :rotfl:

Had a lovely lie-in with DH - a very rare occurence in our house and although I was still awake (kids were watching TV downstairs so I was keeping an ear on them) it was nice not to get up.

Today I shall be mostly cooking I think...another one in the roast pork club for todays dinner. Also want to braise some mince to split between a cottage pie and a lasagne. I think twinks will be on the cards too....a double batch so I can take some to work. I'll make some cakes for the kids pack-ups and generally get organised for the week ahead.

Best get a move on :D

    Grey and dank here.... yuk.
Had a rough night and was awake more than asleep, in the end I got up at 5.30 and did all the washing which is drying on the airer now.
Our Farmfoods is closing for a refurbishment today and everything is half price, we got there at 8.10 and it was all but wiped out but I managed to get a few bargains even though all the meat was gone, spent £30 which should have cost £60 so didn't do too badly.
Dinner is some sliced beef that I had in the freezer which I will do in gravy with LC yorkies etc. I have mad a crustless strawberry cheesecake for dessert.
I am now so far ahead I am going to get some more knitting done.
I hope everyone has good days BFN x

  • Hello all,

I managed a lie-in today (well, I woke up at 7.30 which is better than 6!), and am still slobbing around, surfing and listening to The Archers. The dogs have been walked and I've had breakfast - now I just need to decide what I'm doing with the rest of my day :D

Spoke to the OH last night when he was on the ship, and it looks like he won't be home for at least another 3 weeks :( The money will be good when he gets back though, so he won't have to go for a while again.

Had a friend come over for a walk yesterday afternoon and she ended up staying for dinner as we were chatting for so long. She works as an alternative therapist and can pick up on things really well. She walked into the kitchen, looked at me and said, "so is it 2 husbands now after J came over last night?". She also did some therapy on the new dog and it seems to have calmed him down somewhat - it was very strange, but it seems to work for a lot of people and animals.

So, what to do today? I seem to spend the time OH is away just counting down until he comes back. I have got a letter to write for my voluntary work, so I can fax that off, and I need to fold the clothes I've washed during the week. Apart from that I can see a long day doing cross stitch and reading. I hate Sundays when I'm working 9-5 Monday to Friday, and at the moment because I commute for 3 hours, it feels like I live on the motorway.

Hope you all have a good day.

    T xx

  • Morning All (just)

Had a busy sunday morning for me, have done all the ironing (which I had intended to do yesterday), cleaned out the hamster, hoovered through, showered and had a couple of coffees. Just the bathrooms to do and I can chill!
Need to go shopping today, not got much salad/fresh veg in so will stock up. Also going to collect a new set of knives from Argos, a bargain I found on the grabbit board.

Washing just finishing, not sure if I should put it out, one minute is's lovely sunshine and then it looks quite threatening. May put it out just for an air.

Enjoy your Sundays all. Take care. XX

OMG - just lost the plot and threw DS2 underpants out of the bathroom window. They have caught on the crabapple tree and are blowing nicely in the wind. I have asked him everyday this week to put his dirty pants in the washing basket and today? well I had enough of picking them up. I will do it every time I find them there:eek::eek::eek:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Oh has gone to pick up our new (to us) fridge freezer :) if only we had some food to put in it!!

I have made my soup...it's a bit thick, and doesn't look terribly apetising, so might have to abandon that lunch plan. It really doesn't look good at all!!

My pasta dough is chilling in the fridge and i've made sausage rolls (taste good, but don't tell my diet i said that!)

I've also cleaned the kitchen and hallway, OH has promised to do the rest of the house. Going to put the 2nd load in the WM then i might settle and watch some telly.
