Hi Nationwide claimers
I sent off for my statements of 3rd Jan and got a letter 3 days later saying they're dealing with the request etc. I know they've still got about 2 weeks left but just wondered what other peoples experience is with N'wide and how long they make you wait.
Regards

Hi all I have just received my last 6 years bank statements today from Nationwide, when I have gone through my charges amount to about £120, just wondering whether it is worth claiming from them or not, any advice from people who have claimed small amounts welcome. Is it worth the hassel or not, not bothered about the account being closed as long as it does not affect my mortgage. Cheers.0

I have two Account's with NWide and this is my second attempt at claiming. been told that my 'complaint' cannot be resolved so perhaps i'd consider banking elsewhere ?
sent lba today, checking out Abbey as new account on Fri.
See Natwest thread for my news there. awesome. judge has moved to strike the bank's defence as an 'abuse of process'.
tell your bank; it could happen to them.Claiming against Nationwide £2500Others to come!0 -

my statements came through within a week but as each day goes by and there getting wiser dont be surprised if they make you wait as long as legally possible0 -

whether or not you attempt to reclaim your charges back is entirely up to you , you know from reading the forums your likelyhood of success which is good , i would personally say go for it as they seem to be caving in to the smaller anounts being claimed and really dragging it out for the larger amounts , GOOD LUCK0 -
I received my statements in under a week, sent first letter on Friday so am looking forward to my first "get lost letter". Feel quite excited - reading through the bank statements for 6 years was really scary and left me feeling quite cold, but am so pleased to be attempting getting my money under control. MSE has motivated me to stop hiding my head in the sand!0

bigbadbri wrote:i've submitted my claim on MCOL for £460 on the 25/01/07 for charges in the last six months. I had received a letter from nationwide about taking O/D fee's out the day before pay day when i had no money in the account and had just paid £400+ to get my balance back in credit. So I rang and asked they don't charge me or i'd close my account, they sent the usual letters so I'm hoping to bend the bank over for once rather it being the other way round.
I'll let you know how it goes when I know.
They've now acknowledged my claim and have bought themselves an extra 14 days:mad:0 -
Hi I am going through the process of claiming charges from Nationwide for charges totaling just over £2000. I have sent the letter asking for all my bank stataments which i recieved then I sent the second letter asking them for my money back, today I recieved a letter saying they 'appreciate the time that I have taken to get in touch with us about this issue' and are aware of all the media coverage about bank charges, but as the terms and conditions state that they are entiteled to take these charges and that I agreed when I opened the account and therefor they are unable to refund any charges.
Is this the norm? what do I do now, forget it or send another letter to them threatning legal action.
Thanks
