Hiya im in exactly the same boat i sent my acceptance form on the 25th July and still have not had my account credited , I have rung them and they are honouring offers but would not confirm they had recieved my acceptance form im trying to leave it as long as possible but when you ring them they hardly fill you with confidence i think i may need to ring them again shortly !!!!!!!!!!

I am in the same boat as you two. I was advised by Barclays to print the proof of delivery from royal mail's web site which you can do at: www.royalmail.com, just enter your reference number from your receipt and print it off. I suppose this is proof that it was received, as they said they hadn't got the first letter of acceptance from me!
You cant have everything; where would you put it? ;)

  • Hi all

Im trying to claim my charges back from Barclays, and they've been messing me around a bit. This is the diary I've kept:

8th July 2007 - Rang up to change my address with Barclays from a Newcastle to a Leeds
    address

13th July 2007 - Realised on this date I should have had a response from Barclays, and rang
to ask why I had not yet heard anything. I was then informed that the letter had been sent
to my Newcastle address, rather than my Leeds address. Was told by one person that there
was no record of me changing my address and that it looked as if I had always lived in Leeds
and by another who noticed I had changed my address on the 8th July 2007 from a Newcastle
address. I was sent another copy of my offer letter and contract to return and sign.

16th July 2007 - Recieved paperwork from Barclays.

25th July 2007 - Sent contract with offer amount to Barclays.

28 th July 2007 - Returned unexpectedly to Newcastle address for 2 days and found out that no
letter from Barclays had not actually been delivered there as I was told!

2nd August 2007 - Rang Barclays to make sure they had received my letter. First person I
soke to told me that the 14-21 days began on the date I had posted the contract. Then spoke
to someone who told me that the full amount should be credited to my account by the 8th
August 2007 and said if it wasn't in, I should ring back then and he would arrange a manual transfer of
the full amount into my account immediately.

13th August 2007 - Rang barclays and spoke to a lady who told me that they arent able to do manual
tranfers as I had previously been told and the amount would be credited to my account within
14 - 21 days of Barclays recieving my letter, and I should allow 5 working days for Barclays
    to recieve my letter.

Now, Im not angry because I haven't had my charges back, because their 21st day is this Thursday, and I need to allow 5 working days for postage as well, so thats about a week on Thursday. Im just sick of being told things and them not being right.

Is it worth putting another complaint in about them?

Another thing, they're very bloody rude on the phone.

  • Hi AllI have received Notification of Directions Hearing at my local county court for Monday 20th August - bit short notice I think, I haven't received an allocation questionaire nor asked to provide any documents. I called Barclays Litigation a few weeks ago and was told that they were settling cases once claimants had been notified of court dates - I called them yesterday and they have advised me that they have applied to all courts for a "Stay" and will not be settling any claims until the outcome of the test case. My questions, what is a Directions Hearing? do I go to court on 20th Aug? (the court hadn't received a request for a stay as of yesterday) if so what information should I take with me? what are the questions asked by the judge? Please can anyone help. Thanks

what i would do is to contact the your local court and speak to someone about it, quote your claim number and they will usually be very helpful and will give you the best advice.

    good luck

You should really have put your bundle in by now. They usually have to be in 14 days before the hearing.

Barclays are getting stays on all cases at the moment until the test case isheard. Unless your court puts a stay in itself before the 31st Barclays are sending representatives to request a stay.

I don't think they are settling anything until there is an outcome with the test case.

    hi keren,
I rang mcol and they said not to put anything in until i had heard from my local court. So shall i continue to put in my bundle now. Its been left very late hasnt it. I have everything put together ready. theyve only given me 14 day snotice. Do u think theres any point in ringing Barclays litigation dept to ask to settle out of court?
