 Hi
I have recently sent acceptance to an offer which Barclays received by recoreded delivery on 31.7.07. We still haven't had the refund credited. Anyone know how long they are leaving refunds at the moment or another number I can phone to get through to the department. I have tried the number on the letter and only get automated responses and the lady I spoke to in customer relations didn't even know that they were honouring offers she had to check their website to confirm what I was saying!
Thanks sarah0 -
Just back from Court. Four cases for Barclays were up at the same time, and they sent a barrister to ask for stay until after the High Court case. The barrister said the date has now been set for January 08 etc. etc.
The Judge agreed and said that he was granting a stay on all cases before him, and ones that had not yet had a Court date. This was despite the fact that we had not had any personal notification of Barclays taking this line (Ithink they are supposed to give 14 days notice of their defence).
The Judge asked each person to make some sort of statement, but it was obvious he was not listening on an individual basis and he had already made his mind up before we went in.
We have been taking this forward since last December, and are very disappointed. What a waste of time turning up -they could have let us know they were going to do that via letter.
Chestnut this is not on, I think you can complain and anyway send in an Application to have the stay set aside and objections, have you looked over on the CAG site, we(that is more than 500 of us,) were supposed to be in court tomorrow at Cardiff Court, and last week the judge stayed all the claims and vacated the hearing , so we are mad as hatters!!! getting letters off to MOR, OFT, MP, Rodri Morgan anc CCC0 -
Hi is Edinburghlass anywhere around, I could do with her advice on all this going on today, about my Cardiff hearing tomorrow, well not now of course, but we, that is between 500 and 600 of us apparently, were all booked for 10.30 tomorrow and at the very last minute, most of us received a letter on Friday, to say the judge has placed a stay and vacated the hearing. Some are saying that it is not on to Blanket stay. I have sent in the Application to uplift the stay and basic objection as templated on CAG and now people like 'smutley' have pieced together letters for MOR, OFT, MP. and Rodri Morgan anc CCC
I value your advice?0 -

do i have to attend court
Wait & see is all that can be done...
Chances are they will try get it 'stayed' which is basically put on hold until the test case is sorted, alternatively the judge may think whats the point lets get it sorted now.
Only time will tell on this one, you will no doubt get some correspondence from either the courts or bank, possibly both..

Hi AllI have received Notification of Directions Hearing at my local county court for Monday 20th August - bit short notice I think, I haven't received an allocation questionaire nor asked to provide any documents. I called Barclays Litigation a few weeks ago and was told that they were settling cases once claimants had been notified of court dates - I called them yesterday and they have advised me that they have applied to all courts for a "Stay" and will not be settling any claims until the outcome of the test case. My questions, what is a Directions Hearing? do I go to court on 20th Aug? (the court hadn't received a request for a stay as of yesterday) if so what information should I take with me? what are the questions asked by the judge? Please can anyone help.Thanks0
