I spent the entire sodding afternoon clearing the outgrown and manky stuff out of the DDs wardrobes and then continued on to the drawers under my bed and a cupboard or three. First thing tomorrow its all being deposited on the scales of the cash for clothing place where its worth 30p a kg. Since I have nine bin bags in the boot with everything from shoes to towels I'm hoping for at least £30 although £40 would be nice and £50 even nicer.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Yeurrgh, really boring day at work today (TGIF)
Then managed to get on the wrong train home which made me late  Sounds stupid I know, but it was late (again), and kept being delayed for longer and longer - then my phone rang, a train came in and I got on it,assuming it was the delayed one. They are lazy about announcing the trains as well
However, I have:

Yesterday:
Bought 2 (huge) gammon slices for tea - dilemma: they were too big for one each and a bit too small to share one and freeze the other. In true MSE style I chose the latter!
Today:
Drive into town in DH's (company) car to bank £100 in £2coins. Will be free if I can find a parking space on the street. (will the bank accept as they can be funny about customers trying to deposit cash - how dare we???)
Put washing in and then line dry.
Tonight we may watch a film that I recorded from the TV last week.

Lovely day here today so DH, the dog & myself headed off with a picnic to explore our local countryside.
We usually head off towards the North Wales coast or the Welsh mountains for our walks, forgetting we have beautiful Cheshire countryside on our doorstep. I have now put my foot down, we are no longer going to make unnecessary journeys and use expensive diesel !
Picnic was using up leftover cheese, salami, pate, salad etc, so only needed to buy a french stick.
I reckon we walked a good 8 miles.
Would have been a no spend day however a cold refreshing pint was calling to us at the end of the walk !0 -
Tabatha- sounds a lovely day!!
so far today..
fiver in the house fund box so it isnt sitting around in my purse calling me to spend it!!
£15 amazon voucher recieved thru lovefilm - and spent on stuff I was gonna buy anyway!
Bday present for myself bought using £10 off amazon code!-much cheaper than it wouldve been on the high street too!
Chilli and jacket spuds cooking in the oven all from what we had in, trifle made and roast ready for tomorrow for the inlaws and outlaws (if thats the opposite of inlaws!) round- again all from stuff in cupboards/freezer!
(did have to do little top up shop for a couple of extra things for the week but we will be stocked up on freezer meals for next month so should recoup it that way! included much value stuff all of which I find as edible as branded stuff!)
more clubcard vouchers arrived but will prob save them for cinema/meal out vouchers!0 -
My weekend was amazing considering:
* went to a wedding but drank soft drinks only and drove so no Taxi fare!
* drove back the shortest cross-country route and fuel ecconomically - got the driver behind me very annoyed when I did 30 through the villages with 30 signs
* got reduced suncream from Boots (loreal factor 50 sensitive skin face suncream reduced to £1.50 a tube and on BOGOF!!!) - stocked up for the summer now with 2 loreal tubes and one J&J for a total of £3 :money: I am chuffed as I never normally find great boots deals.
* got free boots mag and asda mags to read (boots mag is basically just ads now and no features to speak of)
