    • played bingo but didn't win.
Happy as Froggy sent me SW books, saving me pennies and hopefully losing lots of pounds, and DS1 got into 1st choice primary school, also got ISA confirmation letters, DHs was 3.1%, and mine was a bit dubious as it was a pre-tax year cut off thing with ing and they offered the average rate of the best rates of the top 3 of 10 providers, which sounded a bit squiffy but is actually 3.35% so i am happy at that. Sounds a good place to start replacing some savings this year.

Now i just need to get DHs ISA transfer form sent in the post tomorrow, and i feel all set for a great financial year.

    • OH picked up the two car seats bought on gumtree and i have.taken the covers off and put them in the washing machine. One of the seat retails new for over £100. A bit worried about buying a second hand car seat but i have thoroughly checked them over and there is absolutely no signs of damage on the seat or the belts.
    • Checked bank accounts and we have been paid £68 in tax credits.......wasnt expecting anything this month. I am not sure if this payment is for the last couple of weeks of march or if we will be getting this every month from now on. It used to be approx £133 every four weeks :(
    • DH's golf balls from ebay arrived....much cheaper than shop price and should last ages.

not alot going on today ,

    will search for some surveys.

Am thinking of what presents I can make for birthdays this year , to save money. So far my ideas are ...
Decoupage my son some star wars gifts.

Make my mother in law a pearl knotted necklace for her 70th birthday cos I got some vintage pearls from ebay for £2 !
so just need to restring and knot them on some clean thread
(which I learnt to do 10 years ago ;)).

crochet my mother and mother in law a scarf for xmas.

making a chicken curry for tonight.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
  • Took my small change to coinstar (don't really like them as they charge 8.9% handling fee) but got rid of my small change, got a voucher for just under £32 then spent it on food for friends (cooking tonight and over the weekend). So a big shop came in at under £20, which is a good deal as far as I can see.
Plus went to Aldi to get some cheap male grooming products as they're way cheaper than the supermarkets and my skin seems to work well with them.

So all in all, a good day so far.

    Today I have:

    • Got taken out for lunch by my folks instead of bringing in sarnies.
    • Not spent anything, and don't plan to, so today should be a NSD.
    • Planned dinner, which will be sausage (Quorn ones for me), mash and beans. Didn't plan last night and we ended up having Pizza Hut takeaway. :o We did use a money-off voucher at least! :D:rotfl:
