    Yesterday:
-Walked to Blockbuster to return rental DVD to avoid using petrol and give myself some free exercise (took 70 mins-15 mins more than it should because I took a 'short cut' and got lost but was too embarassed to ask for directions!!).
-Cleared our 2 raised beds of weeds and planted mixed salad leaves in one, spring onions in the other and started off courgettes and peppers in pots as well as basil and parsley in a little 'herb garden' windowsill box I already had. We already had the seeds- mostly been gathered up free with newspapers or given to us at garden centres.
-Food shop at Lidl to keep costs down.
-Dinner was cheese potato pie (to use up cheap spuds from yesterday).

    Today:
-Booked 2 restaurants online for when we go to Paris on The Fork website- they are both well priced local neighbourhood ones and hopefully will honour the 40% off food discount that we've booked. Also booked a river boat trip saving 4 euros each.
-Went into town and parked for free at sister's house.
-Picked up show tickets from box office (saving 50p per ticket cost to post them).
-This last one's both a save and a splurge: I saw an offer for half price tooth whitening at £200. So went today for consultaion but dentist said my upper teeth are at least as light as the lightest colour on his colour chart for bleaching results using this method!! I have been using Crest whitening strips a few times on upper teeth and haven't noticed how well they'd been working. So the nice dentist recommended that I keep using them on my lower teeth as well. I had to pay a £35 consultation fee but still kind of saved £165 that I'd have spent if he had said his £200 treatment would work on me.
-Dinner was chicken stew in slow cooker using up green beans just about to turn, plus a few carrots I dug up from the raised bed yesterday while clearing it from the weeds!

    Naughty spends:
-A top in Primark for £5- I could just see myself looking elegant wearing it while strolling on the left bank in Paris this weekend- no-one else need know it was a Primark cheapie lol!
-Stopped at Tesco Metro on way home and paid more than should have for peppers and salad as forgot them in Lidl. Even worse I succumbed to 2 cinnamon whirls at the extortionate price of 75p each- sure you can get 2 for not much more than that in larger shops AND I shouldn't be buying junk food either! Oh well, better luck tomorrow!
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)

WABL - In case you don't know already, she has her own website too. There are lot of recipes on there. May save a trip to the library for you. Good news about the mobile.
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

    Today:

DD1 has decided she no longer wants to go to said Gymnastics anymore so have had to phone to ask them not to bank the subs cheque I gave last night - she's going to have a few weeks off to think about it whilst they hold the chq

Meeting DH in his lunch hour for a home made picnic. He works out of town.

Food shopping came in at £56 last night!!! I will still need to buy my mince, bacon and sausages from our local butcher which is expensive but better quality than the supermarkets.

    Have a good day!

PS, get yourselves over to the Debt Free Wanabee site and look up the 'Things You Never Thought You Could Sell' thread. It's an eye opener/hilarious for all you Ebayers. I think it has dropped to the second page but I couldn't stop reading last night.

    *Free Lunch

    *MPG-watch

*Ordered HP & Deathly Hallows DVD for my mum from Tesco via Quidco. CB tracked and CC points earned - It's only £7 free delivery if anyone is interested. I was VERY tempted to get it for myself (and the 1-6 Boxset for £14.99 - but I resisted. Feeling quite sulky and hard-done to now ;))

*Working at social club tonight - manager should give me £20 which will be used to OP

*Checked CC Statement and found that the BodyShop had charged me for items OOS and not delivered - rang them up and arranged refund
