Oooh I'm stealing that as I don't usually see work as that positive!
*went to work and got paid!
    *NSD
*Having pie and chips from freezer not chip shop!
    *updated monthly figures
    2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons
  • Bought myself a kettle and a toaster on eBay. Also came with a food processor. Total cost £1.24 :j

  • So tired today. Definitely going to take the night off the computer.

Not been so good today as i managed to snap the plastic seal bit that goes on the bottom of the curved shower screen. I thought it was looking yucky, so i was cleaning it in the sink while the kids were in the bath. So now since the weekend we have to replace the glass in a photo frame from our wedding - huge piccie too. My door key was bent through the kids pulling on it, so i need a new one cutting. Now the new seal. Hoping that is our 3 things now.

    Today i:
    • donated some clothes to recycle to raise money for school funds
    • made my mum some muffins as a present last night and took them today when i visited
    • donated old boxes/yoghurt pots to school for craft purposes.
    • done 40p of polls on onepoll
    • done some toluna mini surveys and got about 1000 points from that.
    • tea was a mince beef and onion pie made from pastry i made myself the other day.
    • While i was cooking i made extra mash for another meal this week.
    • Instead of buying crunch corner yoghurts again like the kids wanted, i got a 1L pot of vanilla yoghurt from costco, and gave them a few spoons of that with some cake decoration things in it. They loved it. Only cheaper as i bought these decorations that look like cheerios covered in vanilla, strawberry and chocolate coating from the cheap frozen food shop up the road.
    • made DS change straight after school saving on washing.
    • celebrated one week of DS being potty trained - he has now graduated to using the toilet, now to train him not to use quite so much loo roll. :o
    • kids played so not had the telly on all day.

I was amazed to see that a 6 pack of muller corner yoghurts in costco is not only cheaper than the best offer prices on muller 6 packs in the supermarkets, but is almost more than 50p cheaper than Asda's own brand version. I'd rather buy the better stuff and eat less of it than pay more for inferior stuff that i eat more often if that makes sense.

good idea about using the cake decorations

    Today's small things:
    1. Toluna - three surveys went through totalling a fantastic 10,400 points...would be nice if they actually get added on to my account sooner rather than their usual later
    2. Onepoll - 25p
    3. Received £3 worth of Boots vouchers in the post as part of a online survey I did
    4. Just remembered - earned 100 tesco points for getting a pet insurance quote. 100 points = £1 x 3 = £3 worth of reward points
SeriouslySeekingtoSave - wow that really was an ebay bargain :T

I don't normally let them have the crunch corners. Maybe once every 2-3 months as a special treat. I usually get 6 chocolate or strawberry mousses for 75p at Mr T, or they do 6 fromage frais that are i think 65p, or might even be 45. They go through stuff too quickly at the best of times without it being expensive branded stuff, so i am dreading them being bigger. There appetites are huge now. E.g. lunchtime. Each had 2 slices of bread with sandwich ham in, plus a bag of crisps, a large handful of grapes, 2 Mr Kipling Angel slices each, and one of my huge banana bran muffins, then wanted an orange. Neither of them are what you would call overweight either. Just huge boys with hollow legs. Thanks for pointing out the Mr A price. I had not even thought of own branding, but i agree i prefer the costco big brands for the cheaper price.

Mummalove i am glad you said onepoll was only 25p today. Makes me feel better as i was sure i must have missed some as they have been having more than that. Oh well. Can't have it every day can we. :)

Yep onepoll doesn't seem to have many at the moment, and I do check a couple of times a day. As for your two boys...well my 15 yr old DS eats us out of house and home...and always has...just wish I could eat like him and have his flat stomach :rotfl:

don't envy your grocery bills as they grow up  :D

you'll have to start doing a soup course to help fill their tummies cheaply! Sponge puddings/crumbles for pudding will fill them up too and you can make them relatively healthy easily enough. Got a fab recipe for microwavable upside down sponge cake if you're interested - can make the whole thing in 20 minutes from cupboard to plate :D I use it to make pineapple upside cake, so it should be easy enough to adapt as a way of getting yet more fruit into your fruit bats.

Would they eat carrot sticks (perhaps with some own brand dairylea to dunk it into)? Bananas will be filling as well (they release energy slowly, so they are good food for after exercise...says she who hasn't done anything remotely energetic in waaaay too long)! Or better yet, slightly mashed banana on brown bread toast. Low gi and slow release energy - winning combination to help make them feel full. peanut butter (if they dont have allergies) on rice cakes is another good one.
