  • Although really tired, i just made a batch of banana bran muffins - some for us and some to take to my mum.

I persuaded DH to polish up DSs school shoes, and he also did his work boots, money saving as they look nicer and last longer.

Remembered to flea treat the cat with treatment we had in the cupboard before the weather warms up and he brings home a nasty surprise.

    Did some toluna.

That is it really. Too busy taking the kids out for the day, which was definitely not cheap or money saving.

    1. Lots more decluttering and cleaning going on which will increase the house's value, that's what I'm telling myself anyway :rotfl:
    2. Listed my first ever item on Ebay - includes photo and correctly (?!) weighed postage
    3. no spend day
    4. no petrol day - deliberately didn't go out to drop stuff off at charity shop as petrol prices are getting so high now. Will make sure I'm as economical as I can be with trips from now on
    Well done everyone

Yesterday wasn't brilliant but I saved money..........

    * Cancelled AA Breakdown renewal because it was ridiculous
    * Bought RAC membership for a lot less and £30 Cashback tracked on Quidco
    * Paid for parking in town but went to a cheaper carpark further out
    * Got my haircut - expensive but If I book 3 appts in advance I get 10% off
    * I also spent £17 in Boots but bought a few bits on offers that I either can't get elsewhere or due to offers were cheaper. Earned points
    * Bought Popcorn and Coke from supermarket to smuggle in to Cinema
    * We talked ourselves into staying in instead ;)
    * Read this entire thread to get tips

    Today
    * Earned 50 points on YouGov (1/5th of way to £50)
    * On way back from BF's (90 miles) I kept my eye on MPG and kept it at 49.7 (Massive improvement)
    * Used Petrol Prices.com to find cheapest fill up point on way home
    * Have adjusted heating timer so it doesn't come on for as long tomorrow (not sure how long as its not digital)
    * Reviewed speadsheets and updated my 2011 budget with new Council Tax figure
    * Worked out March's Mortgage OP and made a start on pulling together April's
    * All expenditure this weekend was put on CC to be paid off in full on 15/04 but will earn Cashback.

Glad you mentioned that as I got mine come through as well and thought I could get it cheaper as just took out their insurance but with cashback its better with RAC so I will be doing that tomorrow, thanks for tip :)

We are also going to a free preview cinema on Thursday and we sneak food and drink in as well :o

I also could have gone out on my kid free weekend but stayed in instead.

    Mine are not very interesting:

*Had a complete no spend weekend, havent left the house once
    *Did some batch cooking
*Didnt use the car (obv as havent left the house) and had £20 left on my feb budget and will not need to use car tomorrow hopefully.
*Sold a couple of things on ebay

Cant think of anything else but tomorrow
*I am going to search for getting some white vinegar for cleaning and putting in the washing machine etc, hope to try some of the foreign shops but being brave to step into them, its unknown terroritory to me.
*I am going to walk everywhere
*sort ebay stuff out and post.

    At the weekend I:-
    1. Stayed within my food budget saving £30
    2. Sold a playpen putting another £40 in the OP Pot
    3. Had a NSD on Sunday, Target of 4 NSD for the week met.
And this morning i packed into my car enough food for packed lunches all week, I keep it in a cupboard at work so that i dont have to remember to take lunch in every day. Going to try and do 5 NSD this week.
