Hello everyone :hello:
I'm a newbie poster but have been lurking for absolutely aaaaaages!!Hoping to start OPing in 2 months time when my fixed rate finishes ~ thinking of starting a diary then so please do look out for me
I've been doing surveys for a while (thanks to this thread) & have managed to redeem 2 VO vouchers so far ~ I opted for M&S vouchers as my thinking is to get the £10 meal deals so I get more for my 'money'. Depending on the meals available, I'm expecting to save £3-4 off the usual full price so have stretched my £10 voucher to £13-£14. I'm not that fussed on the wines they put in the deal so I plan on saving them for Christmas or Birthday pressies, saving me forking out on said pressies. The meal part can usually do all 4 of us (with a bit of padding out) which means I don't have to cook a full meal & it feels like a treat night for us (M&S food is soooo good), stopping us going out for a family meal & spending £40!!
So that's my contribution so farDoes anyone else do similar/better to make their vouchers stretch that bit further??

I give my M&S vouchers to my mum for Christmas or b`days which she uses in the M&S outlet shop :T and she has found some real bargins there; I tell her to spend them on herself rather than the Grand kids.
I dont know if i can use Next vouchers in the seconds shop/choice but i doubt it. I will doubt check when i am in there next time. It's not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand. ~ Brian Stimpson, Clockwise0 -

hi everyone , I havent posted in a while.
my husband tore his calf muscle badly on friday 13th in May and has been off work since on £81 a week sick pay:(. But hopes to return to work soon.
So no overpayments on the mortgage but we have managed to keep paying our mortgage and I believe this is because our mortgage is so low. And our fixed rate is about to end next month saving us more money (£30 a month).
Now I am off work ill , with a possible ovarian cyst (awaiting scan), so its been a really challanging year with my son having his appendix out too.
So as you can see, paying off the mortgage is really worthwhile.
I am still doing my bit , surveys and sassy shopping.
I managed to pick loads of apples (4 carrier bags full) and black berries before I went ill. Now I have them all in the freezer to last all year :T.Kindness costs nothing0 -
usa1, that would be great if you could use the Next vouchers in the seconds shop, I've seen some fab bargains in there (not local unfortunately) & that would certainly make your vouchers stretch ~ fingers crossed.
mirry, hope your husband's injury clears up soon ~ what a nightmare about the sick pay. Hope you get the all-clear as well. Can I ask if your mortgage provider wrote to you about your new monthly payment or did you work it out yourself?? Are you going on SVR?? That will be us in 2 months so curious as to how it happens.
Small things ~ I got a £5 Amazon voucher from being part of a think tank survey :j Just made 25p on OP but got screened out of VO survey.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Thanks pink, they wrote to us letting us know what our new amount would be a few months ago, and we are going on the basic tracker.:)
Maybe phone your provider and ask them what yours will be.
Good luck.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Today I did a meal plan and then did my weekly shop based on it. I spend about £90 last week so I have some fish in the freezer, as well as a single chicken breast and 200g od lean minced beef. As DH is away all week there are only two of us to cook for, so we are going to eat well with the contents of the freezer and the fresh veg I bought today. I spent about £40, so that is a good start for the rest of the month. I am planning to knock £1k off the balance this month, assuming no unexpected costs hit this month.
I went to the gym tonight for a swim. I have just re-joined after ending my Pru Health contract. The health insurance part of it used to cost £15 a month and on renewal this went up to £75 so it had to go. I enjoy the gym so I re-joined and now I want to make the most of it.
All my spreadsheets are updated and I'm on track so far.
My car insurance is up this month but I have about £500 in a savings account that will more than cover it I hope.
That's all I can think of for now and I'm just going to get ready for bed. Keep at it everyone, MFW is too close to let it go.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
