Trying to get back in the swing with :money: and MFW this week. So far I have:
    • Only spent 40p in the staff canteen in the last week
    • Stuck to the meal plan and avoided takeaways
    • Drove 15-20 miles/hr slower to and from work this week(:o at how fast I normally drive:o)
    • Cancelled the RAC renewal when I saw how cheap I could get a new membership in my name (old one is in DH name).
    • Drafted a new budget to use from 22nd August (after our hols and final payment on car) and decided to have a 'housekeeping' budget so I have less to manage and worry about - just need to get DH to agree
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

In light of Martin's warning about the rise in fuel costs, I have just checked ours. We are with E-on and our previous fixed plan ended in May. They have automatically put us onto a new fix, but this is 6.8% higher than before, but I think this is better than the 19% Scottish P have just announced. Our new fix is up to May 2013. I phoned them and it would appear this is the best plan for us, and i also did a comparison site check as well. The best nearest deal was only a few pounds cheaper but as we get Tesco points with E-on so I think we will stay with them.

I have just received my Clarks online order and am very impressed. I needed some new trainers and as I'm not into sports brands (prices) but prefer comfort I popped into Clarks a few days ago. They didn't have my size in the colour I liked but the assistant offered to place an order for me. Not wanting to miss a Quidco opportunity I said I would do it myself - and pleased I did because there was also 20% off on the website, free del and arrived 4 days earlier than stated:T

Right, this is my 'small things' news from the last few days -

    * Received £61.93 from TCB for car insurance :j
    * Also just redeemed a further £9.20 which is mostly New Vista surveys
    * Received a £25 Amazon voucher from Harrispoll
    * Got a 50% off National Express deal off the Grabbit board so off to parents at end of the month for £16.90 return instead of £34. Works out far cheaper than petrol and saves my milage and having to drive :)
    * Payback came and went on my mobile network (Giffgaff, I love them :)) got £11.93 which I have requested by paypal. They also sent me an email telling me that my most suitable priceplan is PAYG now, rather than buying a goodybag as most of the people I call or text are now also on GG so these are all free. So going from a £15.75 a month contract with 3 at the start of the year, i'm now paying about £2.50 a month PAYG :rotfl:(Seriously, if anyone's coming to the end of a contract check out Giffgaff, their calls and texts are far cheaper and PM me if you want to join as you'd get £5 credit going through someone who is with them already.)
    * 1 x £3 P!necone ;)
    * Up to £37.30 on Onepoll :j
    * Got a smart cardie from Peacocks to go over one of my existing dresses incase it's cold at Royal Ascot next weekend rather than forking out for a new dress/jacket.
    * Found a cracking new barbers in town who also hire a woman to cut ladies hair so had a dry cut for £10 rather than a cut & finish that would have cost £25+ at the one round the corner :)
    * Ate from stores all week and haven't spent a penny :D

    Not sure for what?

Just had great news that my quidco payment for house insurance i bought in January has been confirmed and will be paid next week. So £62.49 for the cause.

Other than that, been working on the usual surveys and reviewing, and it is going all right. I am at £37.50 on OP. I should reach payout there next week. I'm happy with how things are going at the moment.

Since I last posted I have:
Got a capped deal from my existing energy provider cutting my dd's by £30 it's for two years and there is no penalty clause. it will be more expensive than the one we are on as we have been paying too much so asked for the credit of £300 back.

Done 3 sessions with personal trainer only cost £21 hopefullyhe will carry on once gym closes as it's better for me and won't be that much more expensive than what I am paying now.

Need 1 more night in a Premier Inn to get my free weekend one I stay there all the time so may end up with 2 before it ends in July.

Eaten fruit and veg from garden saving on supermarket bill.

That's it keep posting so lovely to read other pepper efforts and get ideas yourself.

    Hi everyone,

    Small things
    • managed to get free cinema tickets to go and see Bridesmaids this week - OH cannot refuse to go now :rotfl:
    • the man from the insulation company has just been - turns out we've always had cavity wall insulation according to him so i only have to pay for loft insulation - saving £70 and a holey house!
    • Gone onto a new fixed tariff with E-on - apparently they were still the cheapest for us so no hassle swapping products
    • Got £4.31 in co-op dividends (don't use co-op much)
    • Used £10 sainsburys voucher from Maximiles
    • went to my dad's y'day (new house) and noticed that he has a cherry tree and a plum tree as well as an apple and pear tree! so very excited about the jam/chutney i'll be making!! :rotfl:so so sad!!
Right well the rest of the day is going to be spent sorting through paperwork:(

hope everyone else has a more exciting night planned.. x
