All the small things - tell me what you have done to be MF today

Only a few tiny things today:
- OH had leftovers for lunch
- Put OH's trainers in the wash and they came out sparkling! (why he chooses to have all white trainers, I'll never know)
- More left overs for tea and the last of the salad too
- Have been OnePoll'ing all day and have made a few quid between the two accounts (shame you can't combine them!)
- NSD aswell

Pro-MFW:-
* Claimed my work expenses
* Free Brekkie today at work
* Free Lunch all week at work
* Freezer surprise last night turned out to be a nasty surprise - I thought I had some Frozen fish in there but there wasn't and cupboards and fridge were bare so I ended up having a plate of oven chips :rotfl:
* Charging phone at work
* You Gov surveys - now at £22.50 from August last year.
* Sorted out huge pile of financial paperwork and recpts
* Checked Halifax ISA opened all okay and correct (I'm a huge fan of the Halifax but this is now sadly necessary as they seem to be making a large number of errors esp on new ISA's)
* Checked credit card bills, arranged payments in full
* Got to max number of searches on Nectar search bar
* Did a full check of all my accounts and forecasts - money is going to be a little tight over next month due to various bills / commitments and I need to move things around and be a bit savvy with spending to I don't go OD. One of my current accounts is in the middle of a switch (£155 cash back) but the new bank is Santander :eek:
* Put in a claim on Quidco for CB that didn't track on my car insurance £28. Fingers crossed
* Good news is that £42 is due to me on next payment run for various little bits and bobs
* Run shopping list through mysupermarket.com to find best prices. Will also go to Aldi for some items.
* Am very nearly out of petrol - purposely - I have a 5p / litre voucher to use and I wanted to get maximum fill-up
* Was planning a meal out with a friend tomorrow but found out they are stuck in London. Hurray! If you know what I mean.....
Anti-MFW:-
* Still having boy-racer moments in the car. Don't know what's come over me recently. I need a good talking to.
* I was having treatment on NHS for something I regard to be a disfigurement. Found out on Wednesday that they have re-designated it 'Cosmetic' and have withdrawn funding. I understand cuts are necessary. I understand they have better things to spend money on. But I can't live with it so am paying for private treatments. I made a payment last night of £400. No idea how much I will need to spend going forward but as long as my income/savings covers it I hardly care at the moment. I'm also going to start putting away some extra every month to cover future treatments / replenish savings.....net effect is a 50% reduction in how much I'll be OP'ing. Which is carp but that's life and at least I had that £400 available to me.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!0 -
as you say curlygirl, at least you have the money so can have the treatments...
Today for me:
* got £19 in my co-op dividend - how do they work out the dividend for your insurances and your banking? I have insurance and banking with them but somehow that was only worth about £3 and the rest came from our cashback cc. Transferred to OP pot already
* used a dominos code for money off our pizza treat - their prices are so shocking that you need to use a voucher to make it just a bit pricey as opposed to open wallet surgery
* drove home from work at 60 - must get up earlier so can go in at 60
* entered a couple of co-op comps
I have spare cravendale codes as I'm not going to use cups etc so have just ordered the jars I wanted for tea and coffee. Anyone here want them? If not I will start posting them up for takers on the cravendale thread.
Also - I don't suppose anyone has a spare Boots no 7 voucher? I got myself a new lipliner http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Perfect-Lips-Liner_15679/ the other week but I dropped it in the car park at work and it got run over or trodden on before I realised and went looking for itThey cost £7.50 without the voucher but are perfect for me colour wise so I'd love to get my hands on a voucher if anyone has one going spare.

- OH and I rented 3 DVD's for the price that it would have cost for ONE of us to go to the cinema! We also had popcorn in a bag and cheap ice cream to munch on.
- Returning a pair of jeans that don't fit although the other pair do (miracle!
) however, they were in the sale for £17 from £24.90
- Today is being spent cleaning and washing - so apart from rates, a NSD!

- Got up late so decided to have a brunch with (store cupboard/freezer) toast, sausages,eggs and beans. DD's also wanted to try some too (:j for liking another 'adult meal'). Was slightly worried there wouldn't be enough for 4 of us and wished I'd had some mushrooms and bacon, but actually there was plenty.
- Made some cupcakes and boiled some eggs for our picnic tomorrow when we go to the farm show.
- PYO strawberries (yum) from local farm. Had to search for the nice ones as not yet plump, sweet and juicy. Will take some on our picnic too.
- Shortened a pair of trousers into capri pants. Well altered actually as I'd managed to get one leg shorter than the other:o Also fixed a hole in DD's jeggings before it grew too big and needed to be thrown away.
Just remembered yesterday I had a bag of carrots festering in the fridge so cut off the manky bits, chopped, par-boiled & froze them.0 - Got up late so decided to have a brunch with (store cupboard/freezer) toast, sausages,eggs and beans. Watched a DVD last night rather than going out, I blagged a free coffee at the gym today; an old work colleague no less. Ideal and very pleasant too I have to admit. We're thinking of getting a cleaner too; Not strictly money saving but it should give us a much better work-life balance than currently - just a few hours every other weekFeb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

Very cheap Saturday for me:
Went to the gym already paid for.
Then lunch free only had to pay £4.45 for drinks as they had given us a free meal and drink due to bad sevice in the past
Went and pick up my free £5 item in Bodyshop (wanted to use it towards the £15 Bodybutter deal plus Love your Body Card but that was not allowed so just for something for £5 which saved me £25.
Park and ride cost £3.50 for both bargain.
Tomorrow got a MS with £20 to spend but the cheapest items are £50 not sure how I do that one.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks very much for the offer :T - another MSEer has already PM'd me with an offer of one so I shouldn't be greedy and have both.

Today for me:
* cycled across town to independent jeweller who repaired my ring for free (hit it with a hammer) and told me I can wear my ring a few more years before spending around £115 to get it repaired.
* had a free shower whilst cycling 3.5 miles home :rotfl:
* got a christmas pressie for DH's aunty and a small one for DM, plus two pressies for DH in the CS on the way (gave them to him now). Also treated myself to some DPNS (double pointed knitting needles) for 50p and some folding ballerina slipper/shoe things for around £3 (handy for visiting friends who have a no shoes policy and cold floors)
* got some reduced bread so made tasty sarnies when I got home
* resisted buying cake (partly waistline partly cost)
* got offered boots No 7 vouchers by lovely MSE-ers so was glad I resisted buying a new lipliner when I went past bootsDebt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
