    Mmm, me again:

    * made DH a lunchbag for his day out with friends and brekkie before he left to stop him spending
    * done some tolly and VO polls/surveys
    * last night popped out for milk etc and scanned it in when I got home
    * done my dorset cereals comps - no wins as normal, also no wins on a magnum icecream stick I had. Guess it's back to work tomorrow :D

I'm not being that good that's why katsu. I keep spending a fortune.

We had to go to costco today, and another £100 gone, and not that much to show for it, although nearly £15 was a present.

I am so fed up of spending money. I told DH i was going to buy us all some appetite surpressants as it was cheaper than buying food for us all.

The rest of the month is going to have to be cheap. The bank account is crying. I could slack off on sending all my little bits of earnings to the mortgage, but i really would then be demoralised if i needed to do it to make ends meet, rather than choosing to for a purpose.

Katsu meant to say to you hon, have you checked DY lately, i don't want your points to expire after the work you put in, even if you only try to get to £20 amazon payout.
  • Aw Michelle- sometimes it gets really tough when everything seems to go on something! I have had car repairs and house expenses , it seems constantly for the last two or three months! Its hard feeling like all this effort is going just to keep on top of things - probably times 100 for you with your littles x

    On MSE fronts tho..
This weekend so far I have...
£5 (bottle of wine) all that was spent for night out on friday - bottle did 4 of us and me for the entire nite (lightweight! :rotfl:)
Lots of catching up on sleep and watching dvds we got for xmas so NSD yesterday
Quick pop to mrt's earlier and got 2 x value rolls 35p each, 1 reduced breakfast pancakes 7p , 1 reduced loaf bread 21p and another 31p - all nicely sitting in freezer now!
Made pizza for lunch out of fridge and store cupboard (nearly killed mrtyo by putting chilli on top- note to self wont do that again!! ;) ) as we had no bread left (hence tesco trip!)
Plan to finish painting/cleaning flat next week so I can get it valued and hopefully on the market soon! (famous last words!)
Got a free running mag from the grabbit boards and also a free moneysaving book :)

Thats about all folks NSD rest of today as weather is pants so plan on drinking cuppas and slobbing!

Thanks Michelle, I have just logged in and done some rating of others. I need to get back into DY as I'd really, really, like an OP cheque instead of a voucher.

I got a great MSE spot from WelshWoofer on the DFW daily small things. Free personalised Fathers Day card. I'd already bought a bargain card, but when I saw the post I figured I could save my card for next year :D Ordering process was easy enough and they even pay the postage so I've saved the cost of a stamp :D
Get Free Fathers Day card worth £2.99 when you go to www.funkypigeon.com and choose your card then you need to use code FUNKYFREE when you go to checkout

I would say you saved at least a tenner! Well done!

I've been unpacking my kitchen and working where to put things. I have also made home made muesli... I think I spent a fiver on ingredients and it will make at least three times a normal sized box. I'm impressed with myself!

Was a bit funny - I threw in an old packet flaked almonds that I found (inherited from an ex-flatemate, I suspect)... then I realised they looked oily, and when I tasted them they were quite sour. I fished them out again (hopefully the bits I missed won't make the muesli taste too bad). The use-buy date was Dec 2008!

I am throwing together some leftover portions in the fridge together to make a chilli of sorts. Spag bol sauce with half a tin of tomatoes, some canneline beans from opening a big tin from app food, and half a tin of baked beans. There was also a handful of garden peas. I am sure it will be delish and create some space.

We've been at my mums all afternoon using their electric and tea bags, and now we are home i am refusing to turn on the heating even though i am freezing. It is a matter of principal. :o It is so cold i am going to have to find my slippers and also get a bigger jumper. The thermometer says 20 degrees, but no way. It has rained all day and there has been no sunshine to warm the house, but i am going to look on the bright side -the water butts will hopefully be full and cost less to water my veggies. (That is if they ever see any sunlight to grow. :rotfl:

Was hoping for a NSD today but I had to go back to Morrisons as I didn't have any turmeric for my lentil curry for tea. On the plus side I picked up a yellow stickered bag of potatoes for 16p while I was there :rotfl:

So the lentil curry was delicious, and had a bit of a kick to it which was nice on a cold day like this. Got another portion for tomorrow and a small one for the freezer.

Made some rock buns and some more flapjack for snacks, instead of buying stuff.

Apart from that, got 4 hours overtime today and 4 yesterday too, so hoping It will be paid at the end of this month so I can OP it :)

Hoping for a no spend week now apart from milk as I should have enough in to last me til next weekend :A

    • Went Aldi today and managed to spend under £30 which is always a silly goal I have when we go there - restocked on the veg and salad so it should see us good for a week and a bit more.
    • Baked fairy cakes whilst the oven was on for tea - does anyone else get more than the recipe states? I got 16 this time! :D
    • Set up a direct debit for the TV licence (I used to pay in one lump sum but would forget to save for it until the reminder came :o ) - it's such a pain they don't start the year from the day you apply for it, so £24 will be leaving my account until Jan 2012 :wall:
    • Signed up to Valued Opinions but had to use my Mum's address as mine came up invalid (which is understandable as the house is only 12 months old) £1 in the pot already.
