Changing the subject...I have been to see the lottie tonight. Flipping heck its big!! Some careful planning is required but as food prices rocket I think I will be most grateful of it.
Now, FK has been eating the seedlings and I cant put them outside because it is still freezing at nights. I cant put themin the spare room and shut the door as it doesnt yet have a door on it!!! Any ideas please?0 -
Our last house became surrounded by bars and clubs in the last five years we were there, four o'clock licences and no noise control at all, it was a living hell but when we moved here I struggled to sleep because there was no bar noise. Apparently the house was completely renovated when we left and all sound is kept out. blocking up draughts etc and new soundproof windows worked wonders.
for noise coming through walls its probably worth looking if u can swap furnishings around and maybe put things over the wall itself, as had already been said the baby will eventually stop crying, it doesn't have to be permanent. assuming of course that the child is not being mistreated in any way. we seal against draughts with quilts would a similar thing absorb noises?0 -

Can you make your own greenhouses for the seedlings, redlady?
Before you ask whether I think you're made of money/building skills, let me just add that by greenhouses, I mean:
1. Insert skewers/lolly sticks into soil round edges of pot/tray
2. Cover with cling film to make a tent.
3. Or plastic bags...
If this would be too hot, you can always make a couple of holes in the plastic0 -
Well, they were in propergators but got a bit leggy so I took the lids off...and that is when FK discovered her love of Gherkin seed and tomato seeds!!! Luckily I have managed to save the Italian ones
Wardrobe is built in...plus she used to jump on the stand alone one I had. Thought it was great fun jumping from the drawers to the wardrobe at about 3 am!!!! :eek:0 -
Not the Italian ones :eek::eek:
Glad you've saved those, or I would have had to send my feral cat round to sort out FK :rotfl::rotfl:
Dunno then - out of FK's way during the day (helpful, huh?) and with a plastic laundry basket over them at night????0 -
Mine got removed too, i wouldn't take it as a personal matter. Just the board guides keeping the thread on topic and nice and polite thats all.
My cats opened my propagator and ate all the seedlings, including the tops on top of the cupboards.
So if you have a foolproof method redlady let me know!
Saying that if you know of a way of stopping both my cats from openiong the fridge that would help even more!
Sick of the little mites eating the cheese.0 -
Hi,
The Board Guides didn't remove the posts. The Forum Team did.
They never say why, not even to the BG's.
If you are not happy about it then you need to speak to the Forum Team directly because they will not respond in a thread. There's a link you can use in my signature, and it's always available at the top of every page.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Re your cats opening the fridge and nabbing the cheese:rotfl::rotfl:....I can picture two cats sitting there saying to each other "Now you open the door and I'll pull out the cheese - supper for us both:D".:rotfl:
Lock and lock containers are good for keeping a lot of things in I find - I've got a large collection of them in all shapes and sizes. Perhaps if you kept the cheese in one of these then they wouldnt be able to work out a way to open it up. Two cats = 2 sets of paws to set to work at a time, but I imagine they wouldnt be able to work out how to flip up the 4 "latches" on one of these "lock and locks"...:).
Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "cat burglars"....0 -

Mine were snack monsters - I decided to cook tea earlier for them [DH and I eat alot later] then if they are hungry later they can have cereal, if I gave them a snack before tea then I found that tea wasn't eaten
I also discovered that hunger was being mistaken for needing a drink, so try giving a drink and see if that satisfies them - young kiddies can't telll the difference they just know that they need something!!

PS hope you feel better soon - either that or give birth!!
Ditto on the drink thing.
My 2 were and still are snack monsters, goes with the territory. Now they are teens they as soon as home from school have basically a packup (sandwich,,cake, yogurt, fruit) and then have a full cooked dinner at normal time with pudding; if I've done tea early because of activities they have the packup once home for supper. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26).
