I have the LTV I need - by £400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just bloody knew the bloke would go just above what I needed. That means the remortgage can now go ahead and I will save £173 per month!!!!!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:beer:

:rotfl:Ceridwen, if you're my AE we're all in trouble.....:rotfl:From your posts, you seem to be a decade older and probably on the opposite side of the country but you can be my Honorary Big Sister if you like. I'm the Older Sister to a Kid Brother and have all the bossy characteristics expected from that birth order but I always envied gals who had a Big Sis.

If accused of anything my management, the first quip out of my big mouth is "it wasn't me and I didn't do it" and if there are witnesses, it was always my evil twin.

Actually, I did used to have a doppelganger in Provincial City but no one has reported seeing her for over a decade. She appeared in a group crew picture for a theatre production which I worked on but I'd been rushed into hosptial so missed the 3 night run and being in that photo. She was called Bridget and was so like me that if I hadn't known that a) I wasn't there that night b) I wouldn't have worn a black mini-skirt with bare legs and c) that I'd never owned the gold bangle she had on her left wrist I'D'VE thought it was me, too.

Spooky. One of my best friends spotted her in WH Smith one lunchtime from the back, accosted her with my name and only realised his mistake when she turned around. He said she was wearing full makeup and he's known me for 20+ years and I never wear any......weird moment for him.

I was quite taken aback because not many people look like me. I don't mean that in a vain way (can't think why anyone would want to look like me ;)) just to say that my height and colouring are very non-average and my features could most charitably be described as "interesting".......

Ah well, probably for the best. I have a vague recollection that in the original doppelganger myth if you meet yours one of you has to die (Watch out Bridget, wherever you might be....:rotfl:)

    Hiya then Little Sis:rotfl:

There are doppelgangers for at least some of us. I've been talking to a woman who I would have sworn was a friend of mine at the time - except that she had a different name and clearly didnt know me. I've often wondered whether I should have asked that friend if there was a twin sister she hadnt mentioned having...they were just identical...same face, same figure, same way of dressing and even doing a similar type of work (ie complementary therapists). My other thought was whether I should have said "How are you x (friends name)?" and when she gave me a thoroughly puzzled look back explained and asked her if she had a twin sister.

Though apparently I've been spotted in places I know I havent been at the time...:rotfl:- so I must have one too...(good job I know my father has only ever had eyes for one woman - ie my mother....:rotfl:).

Not wrong! Thanks GQ and Cerwiden. I knew it would be close, just not that close! But, in 18 months, I have totally turned my life around. A year of pain and renovation has paid off and I now officially have 75% LTV after only having 12% deposit to put down originally. That was the reason my rate was 7.29%. Now my rate is 4.09%. Just need to concentrate on getting those accountancy exams.

But I will never forget the days when I was awake at 4am crying my eyes out wondering where the next pennies would be coming from. Focus on that light in the distance and keep running towards it because it sure feels good to be bathed in it right now

You've been going some to make that amount of progress from homeless to buying a house in 3 years:T. Good for you. I'm sure we'd be glad if you have any specific tips you can share with us as to how you've achieved that much..

Well luckily I had some savings which covered the deposit and first months rent on a flat. I chose one with carpets etc as I knew that would save a lot of hassle. Friends gave me some things like towels, bedding etc. I got a second job and slowly got furniture etc (mostly second hand, end of line). My divorce was settled. I took less money than I should have as it was getting nasty and the only people making money were solicitors plus my DD wascaught in the middle. This meant I had a 20% deposit for a house (small terrace in rather rough area) and a small do up house fund and an emergency fund.

I have been in my house a year and put new boiler in, damp proof course and new bathroom. The only debt I have is a manageable mortgage and 0% finance for the boiler (bit a surprise when it blew off the wall meaning a quick replacement).

How Im not up to my ears in debt I dont know but I was brought up OS and am thrifty but still have a life. Have managed to meet an OS boyfriend. He made banana bread this morning out of old bananas and has just serviced his car himself! :money:
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

:j Redlady :j I'm sooooo pleased for you! Congratulations!

GQ - Loved your weeble analogy - I hope you don't mind but I think I might make it my new motto!

It's a free listing weekend on eBay, for those of you who need to declutter a bit. As the sun is shining I'll take my pictures today and list tomorrow evening (apparently Sunday evening is the best time to end auctions). Otherwise, I'm going to tidy up the garden a bit and pop some things on Freegle before settling down to get cracking on some serious card-making.

Yes sure ......I get a 4 pint glass pyrex dish, I put in 2 pints full cream milk, and about 5 ounces rice, in micro for 25 mins on full power........, in that time I stir it about 3 different times, then its hey presto.........sometimes you may need to add a bit more milk depends whether you like it runny, medium or really thick,.just take a small bit out to test 5 mins before the end , cos it maybe cooked by then, also you .....bset to keep close eye on it cooking for the first time then you will soon get use to microwaving it...........:D
