Definitely a haemorrhoid holiday ZTD. I tried to get some time to myself quite often, but they were like glue.
Glue is useful and usually benign. There are plenty of sticky substances which are not useful and not benign. They were probably more like one of those...It was really bad Lou, but I'm going to try and put it out of my mind for good. They have gone now and I won't ever make the mistake of going on holiday with them EVER again.
A couple of things I took from the holiday were that I don't want to end up like them, moaning and groaning about every little thing. They walk around with such a glum expression and have a really negative outlook on life in general. So positive, positive, positive thinking only from now on.
The other thing I learnt is that I don't want to be dependant on anyone. On day one of the holiday, OH's father said to him 'Does Em ever pay for anything?'. OH told me and said if he gave me some Euros, could I just pay for a meal for all of them just to shut his dad up!! I was so angry and immediately changed some money into Euros and proceeded to pay for myself only. I ate the cheapest thing on the menu all week and made sure that nobody had to pay for anything for me at all. He found out that I knew what he said and didn't apologise or anything. OH told me not to take it to heart, but what the hell was I supposed to do with a comment like that?
His father is MANIPULATING you. He has found a weak spot, and he will play it like a harpsicord.
Do some research on t'internet. Find out all the retirement homes. Well, all those that are far away from you. Talk to OH about which home would be most suitable for them, now that they're starting to lose their independence (point out how often OH has to go and see them, point out how they stuck to you on holiday). OH will probably say how he'll look after them - point out that without you loaning him money, he's not going to get there other than by walking.
I would suggest that this situation is that they see you taking away their lovely baby son who will look after them for ever and ever amen. So they're trying to drive a wedge between you.
He doesn't seem the type who can hold his water, so he'll tell them. That should be like a fireman's hose up the skirt to them.So now I am going to be totally independent. Buying my own food, paying for my own clothes, not going on holiday unless I can afford it. Nothing on credit and nothing lent by other people. That will show that miserable interfering old ******
No it won't. It'll show him that he has succeeded. If you're going to be independent. then OH has to be independent too. If he promises something, then it's money up-front. What he has to pay, he pays - no IOUs. As they say, what's sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander.
Look for the hidden agendas from them. It way well be no one likes them because they're mean and manipulative."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0 -
Thanks ZTD. Lots to think about and will try and read between the lines next time.

I had such a good sleep last night. Needed it too as I've got a busy day today. Think a list is a good idea:
- [STRIKE]Finish online MS by 10am[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Read up on 6 MS jobs I have today[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Complete 6 MS jobs[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Write 6 MS jobs up[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Pick up parcel from Post Office (OH's)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Do a load of washing[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Complete 5 online MS surveys[/STRIKE]
If I get all that done during the day, I've got another online MS job to get on with this evening.
Be back later

Done the 5 that I already had, but have also just picked another one up that needs to be done today. Got another 5 online MS jobs to complete before 10am tomorrow morning too.

Phew, 6 MS jobs completed and written up. Now just these 5 online ones to do.
Got a reduced facial cleanser for £3.98 on one of the jobs I had to do today. I get £3 back so have got a £7 cleanser for 98p. Looks like a nice posh one :T.
Off to put a wash on, sort out a receipt that has to be posted off tomorrow and then make a start on the online ones.
