On the letter they have some directions of how to get to the CF clinic. I quote 'turn right at Burger King and walk past the lifts'. A Burger King in a hospital??? Not exactly the healthiest food in the world. I'm surprised they don't have a Krispy Kreme next door :rotfl:.

    Ahhh, now you're talking!!

There is a campaign on Facebook to get the Burger King closed down. Not sure that I want that as I expect I will have to stay in that hospital at some point, so I would probably be a frequent visitor there. When I stayed in hospital a couple of years ago, my visiting family had to stop off at KFC first as the food wasn't always that great.

Had a free KFC today with some Luncheon Vouchers my sister and I had collected from surveys :D. I've got another free meal tomorrow too as my sister is treating me to say thanks for all the lifts over the past few weeks.

Off to the hospital first thing in the morning though. Also got a flat inspection in the morning, so they will have to let themselves in and I hope it's in good order for them. I'm tidying up as we speak.

Took my sister and Kian to see my 91-year-old grandma today. Her face lit up when she saw him (she has been on holiday so this was the first time she has seen him in the flesh). She may already have 8 great-grandchildren, but she was over the moon to see him.

I am going to try an objective view of my new hospital.

All of the staff seem really nice and they focus more on improving my condition, rather than just maintaining it, which I can now see is what my old hospital team were doing.

They are putting me on a nebuliser to get my lungs clearer so that my lung function can improve. It is apparently below average so I need to work on it. They are also going to work out a new physiotherapy regime for me and have made a couple of alterations to my medication.

Now, the downside. The hospital is old-fashioned and basically run-down. Compared to the hospital I have just come from, it is a total dump. The ward where I would have to stay is grim and depressing. The parking is also flipping expensive - £4.20 for up to 3 hours, and it's not even reduced for disabled people .

I therefore have a new goal in life - avoid having to stay in hospital at all costs. I'm hoping the nebuliser will help my lung function, but they also suggest that I get more exercise, which I am terrible for avoiding.

So, the MacBook will have to wait another couple of months, as I am going to get a Wii and Wii Fit so that I can get some exercise. They are £175 on Amazon for both, so only £130 to go. My next appointment is on 18th October, so my aim is to get them both by then.

Hi Emz, good news on your new hospital ok its not nice but at least your getting care!

Good for you on the exercise, I would love a Wiifit but havent got much space for it. Im more into running but that is quite a high impact form of exercise! But youll be amazed at how quickly you get fit! :p

And your health comes first so good for you! But have you tried comps for a Macbook?

Grim on the hospital front. It is good the staff want to improve your condition tho, just not really great surroundings.

I need to research these flipping Amazon Vouchers, I want a Wii Fit etc too! but can't quite justify the price when I should be saving for a house or indeed Ch*******S

Emz, sorry for what is a silly question, but does the exercise you need to be doing need to make your lungs work to help, ie aerobic?

Just if it is I wouldn't recommend the Wii fit. We have it and while it is good fun and great to get you off the sofa and moving, I don't feel it is particuarly great exercise, none of the exercises make you out of breath. And of course it is very expensive!

I'm on day 2 now of the 30 day shred although I would have to say it is extremely hard work so maybe to far the other way! Only £6 for the DVD though :)

Not a silly question at all Beccie. It does need to make my lungs work harder, but I'm not at the level where I could go to a gym and exercise or anything like that.

At the moment, I don't get any exercise at all and I need to build myself up to a level where I can do a bit more. My physio said the Wii Fit is good to build myself up as I can do it in the privacy of my own home, at my own pace. I know it probably doesn't get a 'normal' person breathless, but I think it would work for me as my lungs are so damaged and I get breathless just walking up the stairs :o.

What I want to do is build myself up so by the time next summer comes around (if we get one!!), I might be at the stage where I can go on walks with my OH without feeling the need to collapse at the end. I also want to learn to swim, but again need to build my fitness up for that really.

I want to get one of those dance games for the Wii too, as I had one quite a few years back when I had a PS2, and they were really energetic and good exercise. I like gaming too, so would use the Wii for that and not just the exercise.
