    Morning everyone

My OH is due back this afternoon so I am in cleaning mode at the moment as all of the mess in the flat is mine!! It's not too bad, just need to tidy up really.

We are going food shopping tonight and I have just been printing off a few coupons to use. I figure I can save around £5 a month if I do this regularly. I've got £1.50 worth at the moment.

I'm also going to get one TMF or MBG offer a week which I reckon will save me £5-£10 a month. This week, it's Kingsmill Farmhouse bread which is £1.35 plus you get postage refunded (I already have some stamps). OH will be pleased as we usually get the value range of bread.

Did a few surveys this morning and claimed a £10 Amazon voucher so my bed fund currently stands at £50. Once I've got enough for the bed, we need a new duvet and we want a super-king one so will get that from Amazon too. I've seen a gorgeous duvet set on there too. That lot will cost around £40. But the bed is the priority.

Better get back to tidying the flat.

Well the flat it all clean and tidy and I have even got my legs out of winter storage!! They needed a bit of a polish though :o

No sign of OH yet. Don't actually know when he is due back. I think he said this afternoon, but he is so evasive sometimes :naughty:

Just hopefully made a fiver. I had an old phone that I broke last year so have sold it for £5 to one of those sites. It's freepost to send it so I have nothing to lose. Also found another couple of vouchers so will have £2.50 worth to put towards the shopping later.

    Morning all

OH finally came back yesterday around 5pm. After all my cleaning efforts, the place now looks like a bombsite. When he drags himself out of bed, I will tell him that he has to get this tidy again before I get back from my mum's later.

We went shopping and it came to just under £30 which was quite good as I did get a lot. Used my £2.50 vouchers. The woman looked at them like I had given her Monopoly money or something. She then spent ages reading the T&Cs on each one!! I was expecting her to pull out a magnifying glass. She finally rang them through, although I could tell she wasn't happy about it

I couldn't find the bread, so had to get a different loaf. Will try to get another TMF or MBG offer during the week.

    Have a great day everyone

    Hi everyone

It's my mum's birthday today so we went for a Toby Carvery - it was lurrvvely. Cheaper than I thought too. My sister and I paid and I budgeted £20 but my share was only just over £10 :j.

Saved £5 yesterday by cutting my own fringe. Really need a proper trim though. Can't even remember the last time I got it done. I think I will put aside £5 from my birthday money (2 weeks today).

I've also decided to pay £1 a day to my mum's Halifax card which I have been paying off as she paid for my sofa on it when I moved into my flat. I usually just pay £10 a month to it, but it will never get cleared if I do that so I figure I won't miss £1 a day. So, today I have paid £4.03 as that will cover the interest that was added this month (received bill today). This brings it down to £265. I know it will still take a while to pay it off, but it has to be better than £10 a month (well, less than £8 a month with the interest).

I've decided to start following the Flylady thread on the OS board. I'm up to date on my questions (thanks to getting up early to drop OH off at the station) so tonight I am going to clean the kitchen which is their task for the day. The flat isn't a state, but I feel the need to get on top of the cleaning.

Don't think I will remember to post on there as it moves so fast, but will try and keep up with the tasks.

Finally finished cleaning my kitchen (don't worry, I've not been doing it since last night). I did everything, from the top of the cupboards to the floor. It is now sparkling. I'm going to try and do the living room tonight.

Just got an email from my friend who I used to work with and a guy who was in my team years ago was found dead in his flat last night. Such a shame as he was a nice bloke, I always got on really well with him. He was only in his 50s :(.

Anyway, must get something to eat (whilst trying not to make a mess).

Got some bad news today. Because of budget cuts, my CF clinic at the hospital is being closed and I now have to travel to Southampton. Really annoyed by this. It's a life-threatening illness and they expect people to travel miles to get treatment. It will now cost me around £20 a time just to get a check-up and if I have to stay in hospital for treatment, then I can hardly expect my family to traipse up there to see me. Plus I have known my medical team for about 15 years.

I think the only thing I can do is keep as well as I can and visit my GP more when I don't feel well. Hardly an ideal situation.

    Morning

Feel a bit better today. Did a bit of research on the CF centre at Southampton last night and it has good praise. Just a bit of a shock really. And on the bright side, every time I go to the hospital, I can treat myself to a little something from Jane Norman as their branch is much better than the piddly little one in Pompey (funds permitting obviously!).

Looking after my niece today as my mum is busy and my sister is at work. My car is also going in for a service today too (free as it's a Motability car). Just waiting for them to pick it up.

    Be back later

    Hi Emz

Sorry to hear about your clinic being closed. Those reckless bankers really have a lot to answer for!!! How funny you talking about Pompey and Southampton. That's where I grew up. I have to agree with you about the shops. I went to Commercial Road at Christmas and the shopping isn't that great though I love Gunwharf.

How is the flylady cleaning routine going?
