I'm soooo tired right now. Can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight (well, mattress).

I decided to revamp my signature. I'm determined to get this bed for free. OH's parents don't think it's possible either. Ha!! I will show them. I was thinking that the best chance of me getting at least £50 towards it by the end of May is through BP. So I'm going to aim for 3k in points a day (2k on last day of the week) which will give me 20k and enough for £10. If I get to my required target, then I will stop for that day as I tend to just play on and then lose what I built up. Let's see if it works for next week anyway.

I completely forgot about Onepoll, so I have logged on to a load of surveys and am now up to £32.75.

Another thing I am going to do daily, is send off for 1 freebie. I reckon that doing this every day will mean that I get regular treats through the letter box instead of threatening letters all the time  - even if it's just a perfume sample (the one I requested today was a perfume sample) :)

I need to make a list of all my money saving tasks every day. I'm going to forget to do them - just done it and have 9 daily tasks that will make/save me money.

    Off for my dinner now.

After starting to read the book 'Eat That Frog' (thank you Buffy :A), it has kind of clarified how I have been feeling recently.

I really don't mean this to sound morbid, because it's not - it's realistic. I've been trying to think about what I want from life for a little while. Now I have made some mistakes in my life, but the biggest one was getting so far into debt. I want to be able to leave this world debt-free. But, more importantly, I want to have at least 5 years of being debt-free so that I can go out and treat myself with out feeling guilty and not have to worry about money or have people chasing me for money.

My goal is to become debt-free by the time I am 35. 5 years from Monday, I will be debt-free. That is roughly £7.5k a year that I need to pay off. Bankruptcy isn't an option for me. I want to know that I have paid everything off. Every single penny. I ran up this debt and I am not going to use my illness as an excuse for not paying it back (no offence to anyone who has gone bankrupt - that is just the way I feel).

So, the next step is to come up with a plan. I have the goal in my sight, I just need to work out how to get there. I think my first steps have to be to pay my mum back the £2k (not all of it is personally to her by the way, it includes my sofa on her credit card and some furniture I got from her catalogue - about £1.5k is owed to her) and to get my bills up to date so I can do a proper budget and know where I am every single month. I'm going to give myself 6 months to pay my mum back and get all of my bills up together. By that time, I will have a clear budget and will be able to work out how much I can clear a month.

So that is my aim for the next 6 months - deadline: 25th October 2011. For the first time, I might be able to calculate my DFD once I have my true incomings and outgoings.

Sorry this turned into a bit of a ramble, just needed to get it written down and out there.

    Hi everyone

Feeling very motivated today. I called Southern Electric this morning to up the DD on my electric (behind on that a bit) and set up a DD for my gas (up to date on that).

I've got a dentist appointment booked for May and I was going to ring up and change it as OH was going to take me and can't get the day off work. However, it's a private dentist as I'm a very nervous patient and had a bad experience with an NHS dentist a year ago. The problem is, it's going to cost me well over £100 to get there and pay for the first check-up. Compare this to £17 for an NHS check-up.

I'm therefore thinking that I should just get over myself and get down to an NHS dentist. Surely there's something I can do to calm myself down beforehand. If I can have an IV line fitted, then I'm sure I can manage a dental check-up :(. So I call and cancel my appointment with them after Easter and go to register at one more local to me.

  • I have the same problem with the dentist Emz, its horrible, I can manage better now cos my (private and thus hideously expensive) dentist has worked so hard on me, I wouldn't lie back in the chair first few time but now I manage injections ok...sometimes I get freaked out but he is patient. However it cost me 155 for a check up and filling. which was not in the plan at all! I don't know what the answer is. Have you tried Valium? seriously it worked for me

    congrats on the win!

    xx

    Thanks Buffy.

I'm not sure how bad I actually am. I had a bad experience with the last dentist that I saw which has completely put me off, but before that I wasn't too bad. I dreaded going, but I think everyone does. I think if I try to go to an NHS dentist and if they are like the last one, then I will have to go private. Will let you know how I get on.

    :easter:

It's not only Easter, but it's the last day of my twenties. From tomorrow, I will be old and 30 (only joking folks :D - I know 30 isn't old).

OH has been driving me mad the past couple of days. He is just always bored - and always reminding me that he is bored! I'm the type of person that can always find something to do and I am never bored. But he just has no hobbies or interests (except his car). I shall be glad when he goes back to work. I am escaping to my mum's today though.

It has been such lovely weather here and it looks set to continue tomorrow :T. Have a lovely day everyone and I hope that the sun is shining for you

Not long to go until I am 30 . Unfortunately, I have already spent some of my birthday money before I have even got it :o. Run down on my eBay bargains (including postage):

Black Jane Norman skirt (new) - £8.50
Pink Jane Norman skirt (new and tagged!) - £13.99 (tagged at £34)
Jane Norman denim skirt (new) - £5.20
Blue beaded strappy sandals (new) - £2.89

    Total so far - £30.58

I think the shoes are the bargain of the century!! Not a bad lot seeing as the pink skirt was originally more than all of them put together. OH has also said that he will pay for a couple of them (probably the shoes knowing him!).

I think I need to lay off the skirts now and get some jeans, maybe another pair of shoes, a belt and a few light cardigans. I estimate I will get around £100 but will update you all tomorrow.

I'm also renewing my disabled cinema card with my birthday money - that is £5.50. There are a lot of films coming up that I want to see and I will make the card pay for itself :).

Night night everyone and bye bye to my 20s.

    Hi everyone - IT'S MY BIRTHDAY :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I always get up early for some reason, it's something to do with not wasting precious birthday hours ;). OH is still zonked out in bed.

I have already received a £20 Debenhams gift card from my best friend and I went on BP this morning and have managed to claim another £5 Amazon voucher :T.

    Will be back later.
