James is not exactly an expert on paying tax, I would take his opinion with a pinch of salt!
neither are you :cool:Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
[QUOTE What a waste of money! Why not put it into their own system to make sure it can't be defrauded and correct faults in *their system* eg. by improving staff training so mistakes are limited. How much will these costly investigations cost and where does that money come from?[/QUOTE]
I agree with this, surely by spending money retraining staff and spending extra time on contacting those people/Dr's/specialists on claims would result in less tribunals.
If I remember correctly £600m+ to replace the DLA, plus the amount it costs to go to tribunal as I am sure there will be a massive increase in this over the next few years." I would not change you for the world, but I would change the world for you"
Proud to be parent of a child with Autism:D
When I see your face there's not a thing that I would change 'cause your amazing just the way you are0 -
what about council tax,
My council tax (not something you will have ever paid james) is about £1800 a year on its own!0 -

What is your problem with single parents Plumber? Why would you have them held destitute, but you seem to have no problem with those who are able, but not actually looking for work?
Please do not tell me that you believe the Vikky Pollard clap trap that you hear in the papers that young women get themselves pregnant as they aspire to be single parents living on benefits in a council flat?
Many single parents find themselves single as a result of what a an ex-partner has done to them- beat them, ran off with someone else etc. There are no guarantees in relationships that you will be forever. I don't think there are many people who plan to be single parents.
It really enrages me when I see people bashing single parents, as it is a hard enough job, without some old fashioned prejudices being thrown at them. Most single parents I know actually go to work and pay their own way in life.
In my opinion, the worst contenders are far more the immigrants that we support, illegal or otherwise we end up paying for the lot.
Surely it's the responsibility of the child's father to support his child? Why is it OK for the taxpayer to support the children and not the father?0 -
ok then prove it
i get 250 pounds a week and take home 200 so thats 50 tax and ni of that 40 quid is tax so of my full 250 thats only about 20 percent so where am i supposed to be paying the other 30 %
You are in a lower tax band. If you are on low earnings, you do not pay as much tax.
Have a look on the internet if you are interested, on tax codes/bands and you will see what people mean.
I know people on benefits pay VAT as well, unfortunately we are all stuck with thatlol
The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
