If I was in charge, I would give everyone who has been on job seekers allowance for longer than six months, no cash whatsoever. I would give them vouchers to buy food, and a meagre amount at that. I would get their utlities and rent paid direct to the supplier. No cash whatsoever given to the claimant. No money for clothes, fags, booze nothing. Im sick of hearing about people on benefits living a luxury lifestyle compared to a lot that are working. I just read a thread on here where a woman is clawing nearly 2.5k a month in benefits and moaning how she is going to afford to pay brighthouse this week.... STOP IT ALL NOW!! STOP THE LOT OF IT! The rates are benefits are FAR TOO HIGH. Theres no incentive to get work.

IT IS NOT THE PEOPLE ON BENEFITS THAT ARE IN POVERTY IN THIS COUNTRY. If you are able bodied, you should be forced to support yourself - in any job for any wage. There are too many bleeding hearts in this country. I wonder how did they manage in cave man times, did their neighbours all go out and catch a wildebeast for you if you couldnt be a*rsed to do it yourself?, no you would have been left to starve and die. Its survival of the fittest baby, and if you cant keep up, then you fall by the wayside.

That doesnt include disability, people who cannot work through ill health, should be supported.

Its just an almighty JOKE on the working public that you can work all month, pay your taxes, and the people on job 'seekers' benefits come away with more money than we do on payday!

All those on jobseekers better watch out when im in charge!

    You've got my vote!

Jobseekers Allowance is £65.45 for a single person and £102.75 for a couple 9this is per week, not per day) and because of this meagre income they are entitled to the full quota of HB or LHA which in some cases people on JSA have to pay towards their rent.

You must be talking of other benefits....or people on JSA who receive Child Benefit (so do we all) and Child Tax Credits which the majority of us get whilst workng.

I lived this way for 12 months with a wife and 3 children and it was pretty hard but you have to get on with it and live within your means.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.

  • i know that benefits is a touchy subject, and there are always going to be people who will call people on benefits work shy and lazy. We live on benefits, well when i say live, we exist. My husband is ill, he has autism, a blood condition and a host of other problems e.g scarred lungs from multiple pulmonary embolisms. He would genunely love to work, in fact they took him off his incapacity benefit and when it went to tribunal he said if you can find me a job i can do i would love to do it. And he has been to probably hundreds of inteviews, he gets dressed in his suit and gets his speech prepared of what hes going to say, which if anyone has experience of autism knows is a mountain of a challenge and off he goes, then he comes back and waits fr the phne to ring, but it never rings, then he gets so low and depressed that he isnt good enough. I dont know how people have all this money on benefits, maybe we are too honest but we struggle to make ends meet. We dont buy any expensive things, we dont have sky, we dont drink or smoke, all our food is value range and i live as frugally as we can, our kids and us are clothed out of charity shops. The old style board on here is my bible. There are genuine cases, some of you may disagree but i think we are one of the genuine ones, i dont work as i care for my husbands physical needs, he cant dress himself and has many other needs, he gets low rate care so we dont get carers allowance but i tried to work and it was a disaster. Even though he is so disabled both mentally and physically he wants to work. We never get a break, and it upsets me when you get scroungers too. I also think that savings for the country could be made in other places i.e stop prisons being a cushy place for offenders and make it apunishment rather than a pleasure. If you act against society you shouldnt have tvs in your room or priveleges you should pay your debt to society with hardship. Prison should be so bad that people dont want to go back there so will tow the line. Sorry if you all will disagree or be offended but this is just my opinion.

    kind regards

    princess

Hey I've already got one vote, i'm on my way!

Only proud people who want to earn their living would be welcome in my land of wonderment. Of course, it would be mandatory to have a hello kitty tattoo on your left butt cheek but im sure most people wont mind that at all.

Dont get me started on prisons. I would definatley bring back hanging for sex offenders and murderers. That we we would get rid of some of the population already - those scum dont deserve to share the same air as the rest of us. I would bring back victorian punishments for um, like hard slave labour in jail for 15 hours a day. Dam straight,
