  • I found a brilliant craft shop in Sandiacre, Nottingham if anyone's nearby? They have lots of beads and findings and it's sooooo cheap!! 20 grams of beads for 26p - compared to the 95p and £1.95 for 15g that I have been paying. I'm so excited! Prompted me to make these :)

  • Hi all x Bit of a daft question from a total newbie ! I want to make some elasticated bead bracelts with a glass heart charm hanging from them. What do I use to attach the heart ? Is it a headpin or am I being totally daft ? Trying to raise a wee bit of money for Ovarian Cancer Action by selling them to friends / family ( and at school christmas fete ! ) as my wee sis died suddenly from the illness without even knowing she had it. I need them to look good so I do her proud ! All advice appreciated guys xx
    TIA

Thank you! Your wedding accessories are gorgeous! Making me feel all Christmassy :)

KT - So sorry to hear about your sister, that's terrible :( I'm sure you'll do her proud with your bracelets though. How you attach the heart charm will depend on where the hole/hook is on it. If it's like a bead with a hole going from top to bottom then a head pin is exactly the right thing. If it's a charm with a hook then a jump ring would be a better choice. hth - let us know how you get on

RachyD THANK YOU ! It is a glass heart hole top to bottom . Will get head pins now ! You are a star , cheers pet.
I'd like to make a few quid but really it's raising awareness of OC. It is so often diagnosed as Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Jess I love the colours in the second picture :)

jakes-mum - I haven't used many beads with holes that big except for acrylic beads/ceramic beads. I use these sites a lot though if you wanted to have a look http://www.beads4crafts.co.uk/categories.asp?cat=2 http://www.mailorder-beads.co.uk/
