how often do you think you sell your items? Im just wondering if its possible to make the money i spend back in a relatively short length of time, i mean i dont expect miracles or anything lol x0
-
I am making "pocket money" items for a school fair....so things will be less than £2.50 each. I will take some higher value items too. I hope to take some orders too and will take a little "flyer" with my Facebook page details on.
I just think of it as a hobby at the moment (I am well away from making my millions).....lolSlimming world new starter 2/1/17:D:DWeight loss so far 5 stone 8 lbs

Mad cow beads, The crafty beggar I posted about is also very good, as are a number of places on ebay - try Ang's attic.. they are off the top of my head0 -
beadaddicts/angs attic are both fantastic i buy from both nearly all the time,i agree i find it hard to make a lot of money off my jewellery making,i sometimes get times where i have a few biggish orders and then nothing for a while.yet it is something i enjoy doing i have a page on facebook and hopefull after xmas, hope to be brave enough to do some craft fairs and post on folksy/etsy etc:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

Hi All,
I have kept dipping in and out of this thread as my interest in my new hobby comes and goes!
I go through phases of wanting to make jewellery - I think my main problem is that I'm not very good of thinking up designs/ideas! I can do earrings and memory wire bracelets but want to do more.
I quite like the idea of the long necklaces - something like this: http://www.accessorize.com/en/restofworld/carved-rose-pendant-necklace/invt/98264570/?bklist=icat,4,shop,jewelleryshop,jewelleryshopnecklaces
How would you do this - buy the chain, attach the clasps etc, then attach the beads? It just seems too simple!
I really just want to be able to create my own jewellery and some for presents - I also like the bracelets with beads/flowers on them
ARGH - I just want to be able to do this so much but seem to be lacking creativity!0 -
jenny look on facebook at jewellery pages for ideas, google images of bracelets/necklaces and search on you tube for tutorials this is all i have done and i have taught myself:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

Thanks LJM - do you have any youtube users that you recommend so I can search for them?0

This isn't strictly jewellery making in the actual sense of it... but I've bought some bits to make my own Christmas bracelets.
There are cheaper ones available (basically no postage charge) but I chose mine because it said they were genuine leather. You can also get silver plate etc ones too if you want to like this one.
I chose black but there are other colours too and more colour choice from other sellers like this one.- Green Charms (Hong Kong Seller)
- Red Charms (Hong Kong Seller)
- Snowflake Charms (Hong Kong Seller)
- Stopper Beads (Hong Kong Seller)
There are obviously UK sellers/high street people etc but I went for amounts and price. If you are buying anything from Hong Kong sellers and want it for Christmas I'd do it in the next couple of days otherwise it's unlikely you will get it in time.If you have a Boyes store, they sell beads in their jewellery making bit - and places like Evans also sell them (but they are like 3 for £4 if IIRC

I use that ebay seller for my "charm style" bracelets. Swift delivery and very good quality. I buy the charms from China, Hongkong and the UK. They have proved very popular with my friends.Slimming world new starter 2/1/17:D:DWeight loss so far 5 stone 8 lbs
