Places that sell Candybox jewellery/charms are selling their charms at 6 for a £1 atm rather than 3 for £4 as usual.

These places include Evans & Dorothy Perkins.

Their bracelets are a pound too if anyone wants some.

I've only just found this thread so forgive me if this has already been asked somewhere else. :o

I've been looking a different Utube vids about making elastic bracelets and they all seem to use some kind of glue on the knotted elastic to stop it slipping.

Do people find this is necessary? I'd hate to watch all my work pinging off the end of the elastic if the knot gave way!!!!!!! If so, what do you use? I've managed to find something called Dazzle-tac, but the only stuff I've found on most of the bead shops and craft shops seems to be a kind of superglue type thing. The videos seemed to use some kind of flexible glue/cement, and Dazzle-tac seems the closest thing to this.

Hope someone can help, I'll get my act together now and read the rest!!!!
Wilson the Volleyball is one of Hollywood's most loved volleyballs. His glittering career started when he became the only companion of Tom Hanks' Chuck Noland in Cast Away. Many say this is Wilson's best performance and he couldn't have given a better effort.
  • I've always used clear nail varnish - that seems to work!

This isn't strictly jewellery making in the actual sense of it... but I've bought some bits to make my own Christmas bracelets.
There are cheaper ones available (basically no postage charge) but I chose mine because it said they were genuine leather. You can also get silver plate etc ones too if you want to like this one.
I chose black but there are other colours too and more colour choice from other sellers like this one.
There are obviously UK sellers/high street people etc but I went for amounts and price. If you are buying anything from Hong Kong sellers and want it for Christmas I'd do it in the next couple of days otherwise it's unlikely you will get it in time. :) If you have a Boyes store, they sell beads in their jewellery making bit - and places like Evans also sell them (but they are like 3 for £4 if IIRC

the silver dots are the stopper beads and the longer lines are where I'm going to put the snowflake charms.

I have lurked on this thread for a couple of months now, i thought i'd like to make my daughter and her friends some bracelets for their birthdays so bit the bullet and bought some of the bracelets (like above) and some silver charms (dangle charms like the snowflake ones linked above). i had (i think rather nievely) bought jewellery wire to thread them on to the bracelet but i now think that this wont stay secure.
I know it is a bit of a daft question but what do you use to attatch this style of charm securely.

    Thank you in advance.

The charms should just slide on and you can buy stopper beads if you like which stops the beads sliding around. Hope this is what you mean x

It depends the kind you get, if you get the dangle ones with the tops like these they will just slide on.

If you've bought some just charms like these then I would purchase some of these and some small split rings like these to fasten them together.

    Hope that helps :)

Please be aware I haven't checked for cheapest/best sellers etc - just chosen the first auctions that come up for my examples, I'd have a proper look into the designs and prices etc before purchasing.

Thanks Gleek just ordered some split rings, like i say im totally new to this (maybe the other style charms would've been easier - but im not one for taking the easy route.)
