Just out of interest, how much did you claim for, Paul?

Personally, if you're happy with their offer; then take it .. but if you feel slighted by it .. carry on.

Cobbett's have made me an offer.

Obviously they claim their client feels they'd win the case. However a 'gesture of goodwill' offer of half the amount i'm claiming has been given.

What do u think I should do folks?

I think you should push on. The first offer Cobbetts made to us was about 50% of the claim. I wrote back refusing the offer, carried on with the court claim, and got sent a cheque for the whole amount of over £3300.

  • right after being charged £38  for a returned DD by Natwest i'm going to try reclaiming my charges....i mean i dont mind paying a fee for the dd being returned as it was my fault although it was a genuine mistake i think £38 is far too excessive.

Has anyone else had any luck with natwest

  • Lots claiming from NatWest Lyndsay, I'll just merge you with the thread where you can read of their experiences.
  • Just read the last few days posts as have been busy recently. In terms of letters asking for charges back, if you send them to the branch they will simply be sent to Customer Relations Unit Borehamwood, if you cc a letter to the branch is will be sent to Customer Relations Unit Borehamwood. Is the pattern emerging on this one? If you are asking for a Subjest Access Request then it is to the Alex Lyons address quoted on the thread. If it is statements then any branch of NatWest can order them for the cost of £5 only. Hope that clarifies addresses and cost of copy statements.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

  • I sent my first letter and received a letter back from Stuart Higley within the 14 days. The ltter says they are currently considering my claim and will get back to me asap. How long should I wait before sending the second letter? Is this purely a stalling tactic? I did notice my Higley hadn't dated it! Has anyone else had this letter?

Send the next letter when your deadline is up from your first letter. Don't be taken in by the bank trying to stall your claim. This seems to be the latest tactic from many of the banks.

    Over £1000.

I've decided to decline their offer and follow Rex's excellent advice.

    Thanks folks.

(ps read the Daily Mail yesterday - amazing thing to do, but this situation is getting madder and madder!)
