I have followed procedure for reclaiming my bank charges from natwest and refered it to court action stage . Natwest have acknologed this and date for them to comply is 22nd of this month . I have received letter today offering £566 which is the charges less the interest which I am also claiming about £197 I have also had to pay a court charge of £80 which I believe I will get back if I win the case and will I be awarded the interest of £197 too is this correct ? and what will happen if I do not accept this offer and proceed ? ? ? has anyone had a similar offer from Natwest and what do you all suggest I should do ? Dont want to lose current offer but by accepting this I feel I am losing out on interest and court fee PLEASE HELP ! ? ? ? ?0

I've got £1,100 back from Natwest today, which is what I was claiming less the court fee and interest.
I didn't wnat any more aggro on this one so I settled; if you want to go ahead and go to court, current indications are that you'll get the full amount EVENTUALLY.
How much do you need the money? Are you prepared to be patient? Two key questions to ask yourself. If you wanted to call Natwest and try and negotiate, these people could help:-

 Got my settlement offer through today of £2382 (succcess) however as I have managed to incur over £400 since the claim started I am trying to get this added to the existing claim.
This does include providing the relevant information as proof and have been informed by Natwest via a telephone confirmation that they will include these additional charges after a review and credit them directly into my account.
I am currently waiting for my statements that include these charges, has anyone been successful by claiming additional charges this way?
By the way this settlement arrived bang on the final day of the 56 days they had to respond and there is a number on top of the form which you can get you directly through to the department dealing with Natwest claims 08453030456. :beer:NATWEST Amount Claimed £2860 Amount Received £2860

Not impressed though as they have just slapped another 2 charges onto my account on the 4th June! Why couldnt they just have wrote them off seeing as if they were abit quicker at putting the money in my account i wouldnt have gone overdrawn in the first place!
Oh well im just glad all the hassle is over with! Jen x
I can't believe that yesterday I was delighted with my refund and today I was given tragic news about my mum who is truly one of life's angels.
Natwest haven't a clue how their actions have people. I should have been with my mother and not tracking down money they stole from me.
Can I ask any disabled (wheelchair bound) Natwest customers in Scotland to contact me or if Martin can email me privately I have something he may be very interested in.0 -

hi there, I know its pretty late, but have question.
Am preparing stuff to send to Cobbetts. Have already sent the CPR Par 18 request letter, you know the one saying we won't provide info until requested by judge, am I right in saying that all the info required on the defence which comes under the Request for info and clarification I don't have to provide right now. I have done a detailed description of charges which I will send to them now, and a full Particulars of Claim and full details of my account (which they already have), so is that all I have to do at this stage.
God, I feel such a dimwit and feel like I am asking the same thing over and over again, but basically I want to know exactly what I should be sending them NOW if anything, bearing in mind I have already sent them the CPR Part 18 refusal.
I've had the Tranfer of Proceedings to my local court together with copy of defence and Request, so do I just wait for the court to let me know what THEY want.
i don't want to get this wrong but I just have this feeling that I've missed something and Cobbetts will turn round and say - sorry mate you've blown it.0 -
First of all thanks to Pam for responding to my post!
I have sent my information to Cobbetts via email about the "particulars of claim" as i did not receive anything through the post about which court i was being transfered to until today.
I have received a letter now saying that my case has been transfered to my local court, but there is no allocation questionnaire with it.
It is a standard letter which reads;
the claim has been transfered to the court covering the area where the claimant lives or carries on business.
Please read the accompanying documents carefully and note that the allocation questionnaire should be returned to the local court
However the bit about the allocation questionnaire is crossed out.
Then on the 2nd page it says;
Without hearing
It is ordered that
The filing of an allocation questionnaire be despensed with in this case unless the district judge at the court of transfer orders otherwise
So does this mean that now i have to wait for an allocation questionnaire from the local county judge if he sees fit?
How long does this usually take? And also how long should i leave it before i respond if i hear nothing?
Oh and also, one more thing
Do i have to send the information i emailed to Cobbetts to my local county court?
APologies for all the questions, but i really did not think it would go this far.0 -
Thanks Jen and congratulations too! It's a great feeling isn't it?

Hi,
I am currently in the MCOL stage with Natwest. They have acknowledged my
claim and have until the 18th June to defend.
I have just received an offer by letter for £1869. I was originally claiming for
£2012 but since i have taken it to court i have added interest which now
brings it £2551 plus £120 court fees so £2671 in total. As you can see there is
quite a difference.I do need the money and cant afford to accept their offer
as i wont get the interest and lose my court fee.
i would just like some advice as to what i should do.
Thanks.0
