Thanks Kurt, what would we do without people like you. Am feeling very nervous about this court thing. I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent, but all this legal jargon gets me a bit jittery. At this point I suppose we have to be exact in everything we do, otherwise we can lose on a technicality, but tomorrow when I am less tired I am going to read and disect what they have sent me and hopefully will be able to make more sense of it.0

My husband and i are both in the process of reclaiming from Natwest. My husband is reclaiming £4500. and i myself £2500.
I have got to the stage of going ahead with court proceedings, whilst my husband was offered a "GOODWILL GESTURE" of £4052. without taking it to court.0 -
Did he accept the offer? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

I can only give my experience of Nat West which has been total non response and to be ignored . I have adhered to Martin's templates and guidance re timetables Nat West initially sent my statements promptly then nothing I have tried tel the numbers quoted on this site to no avail Eithe rput on hold or engaged for 20 mins plus andI have given up . E mail was no better either . I started my MCOl claim in April and if you have the money then I would advise this. Nat West acknowlwedged this but thereafter nothing - No settlement offer either. They said that they intended to defend and I now have 24 hrs left before pressing the " Judgment button" I am feeling vulnerable and jittery and I expect that they will submit there defense tomorrow However I have nothing to lose and am ploughing on as per Martin advice I am worried thtaI am the one who will get nothing or have to defend .
One thing that has become apparent form trawling this site There is no formula or standard response from the banks. Each bank is different and the banks are different with different individuals The right hand not knowing what the left is doing.0 -
That is good advice to give a call if you are not confident on the court claim process which some have been put off by, as a result of the Lloyds TSB issue, but NatWest Bank won a case in 2005 using the same arguments and yet they have yet to get lucky again.
If you are or are itching to get your hands on the bank then I would advise you to take the bank to court for their unlawful activity and i would say that they did so with malice aforethought. If you can wait then do so, but if not sue them.0 -
Well i never.I got back today from work and the letter from natwest has turned up.I have nt got time to type it all out tonight but i will tomorrow.
They have not closed the account either. We Just have to sign it and the money will be paid straight into the account.
I would like to thank everyone on here for there help and support.

I would have posted this on Friday but had pc problems. The story is on May 14th, last Monday they validated my claim and I received my offer on the Saturday. This past Monday I had sent it back via special delivery, they got it on the Tuesday. I checked my account on the Friday and still nothing in it, so I called them up and the guy couldn't even find my claim, so I told a little white lie and said I was told last Friday when I had called it would be in today.
He said he would call the main office and get them on the case and low and behold it it was in a few hours later!
Claim was orginally for £2712 and accepted £2600! Thank you to everyone on this site! The information here has been invaluable! :j :T0 -
