No is it !!!!!!y like! I rang today i no i said i wouldnt but i thought just once surely i will hear what i want to and as ive been promised my offer letter by today for weeks by various natwest staff members i thought id just ring and see.

Rang and got told this tale.

I have checked the system and you submitted your claim on the 23rd March (thats when they received it) so now its ...... I interrupted at this point and said YEAH ITS 8 WEEKS TODAY!

Well i'll just have a look now to see on our system as we are hoping to give offers out within the 8th week. (Thought to myself someone better get typing my letter pronto and hand deliver it to my house if this is the case) She came back to me and said we are validating claims from the 28th March now on the system - so i said well mine is 5 days before that so surely i should have received something by now. All i got back in response is well i cant tell off the system if an offer has been made but you should be receiving yours anytime soon and probably before the 8th week which is Thursday at the latest!!!!

So i said i am in my 8th week now so your now telling me its in the 9th week she didnt know what to say to this - i tried to really keep my calm as i know they only answer the phones.

I am so sick of this now its been hellish they have added stress to my life and all these lies i have been told is unbelievable.

I am so angry and i really really would like to know what kind of system they are operating by because how come some have been settled sooner when claimed later and why are we all being told different things everytime we ring them.

If steam could come out of my ears it would be doing right now i tell you.

I too am thinking of court action now but i dont want to have to borrow the money to do so - in other words i have to wait and i think they no it!
smudgemanc26, im really mad for you!!!!
    still no offer!!

    You must be furious.
I dont think they have a system in place.
Sounds like they just pull letters out of a hat!
they should be doing everything to get claims sorted as not to lose custom, they just dont care do they?
I am definatley leaving natwest once this is sorted..i would rather keep my money under my mattress than deal with natwest again!
What are you going to do next?

I've just sent off my claim for charges totalling £3,156 excluding interest.
Feeling very satisfied that i have finally got the ball rolling.
No doubt i will soon be feeling your frustrations with the process , but thanks to all your contributions i am well armed!!

Good luck to you all with your claims.

In a word we are all to blame and shouldnt be claiming back our charges - the banks are right etc etc!

They are the type who would let a murderer walk fee cos hes obviously 'not well'

lets just hope they dont fall on hard times and incur bank charges and have to reclaim them!!!

  • Thanks for the list of th what you can claim and cant claim on the main site. But when I got my HSBC bank statement, it says Maestro Debits, Cheques Paid, Branch cheques collected, automated credits and Branch cheque only credit. Can I claim these charges back too?

PS Had no idea how to post a new thread hence I replied to your one....sorry. Could not find it how to do it.....
  • Hi I'm new to this site, trying to reclaim charges on behalf of my son. We have received the bank statements. I realise there is a list of what can be claimed and what cannot.

Does 'Charge for clearing VISA payment while overdrawn' come into the can or cannot?

As 'Cash Machine Withdrawal Fees (ATMs)' is a cannot.

    Many thanks
