    Hi there

I rang the Fatwest too and they told me there was a letter with full offer of settlement dated 2nd April on the way to me and should take 21 days (no idea why Royal Mail take so long :rotfl: ). I have sent them a 14 day LBA and by the time the 15th day comes, it will be past the 23rd April, so if no news I will issue at Court.

I suspect they have been told to say 56 days to people now but as so many people have said, since when did the Bank give us any leeway with payments? I have managed to clear my overdraft and closed my accounts with them now so I am happy to proceed to Courts if needs be, I have set time limits they have ignored them. I know what they do if I ignore them and their time limits!!

If you want to wait for the 56 days and give them a chance then that is your choice and is probably less stressful than starting proceedings! I have decided that if there is nothing by time my LBA time limit is up I am issuing. I am now getting used to the idea of what I will spend the £300 interest on!!!

    Good luck

    Sarah

The last time I rang Natwest to check on things (just before I commenced MCOL proceedings), they also said I would receive an offer within 56 days. I asked them why it would take so long, and was told that it was due to the backlog of claims, and also that it needed to go through various depts for 'checking' I queried what needed checking as I'd not only listed the charges, amounts and dates, but was sure they could quickly pull out that information themselves from their computer system. He was a really nice helpful man, but couldn't answer that - I'm sure they're just given set lines to say to claimants.
By this point in the reclaiming process, and having stuck to the timescales and been patient, I'd just had enough. What guarantee was there that this alleged offer letter would actually reach me in 56 days? I had a feeling it wouldn't and that I'd then have to start MCOL, and it'd be months til I got my money back.
Now that my claim is in the Courts system I actually feel less stressed, because I now know there's resolution in sight, even if it takes a while. My only worrry is that, if Natwest put in a defence, and it gets referred to my local County Court, it might take a couple of months or more for my Case to come up.
Wish I'd been one of the lucky ones who got an offer letter after my letters!

Can anyone confirm that I sent my letter and list of bank charges to the correct address?

I sent them here by recorded delivery:

    NatWest Customer Relations
    225 Shenley Road
    Borehamwood
    Hertfordshire
    WD6 1BR
    <o></o>

They are coming to the end of the 14 calendar days and haven't heard from them.

Have you got a telephone number I cannot get one I rang NatWest about some other charges, was given a PO box address and told that the relevant dept. did not have a "phone number"
Did not realize that banks were so behind with technology though the 'phone' has been out a little while.

Try Customer Relations unit on 0800 015 4212 automated system gives two options, 1 and 2.
I tried opt 2 told them it was about bank charges and they imediately offered to send me my last six years statements off in the next week free of charge before I could explain to the lady I had already made a claim, she then gave me a number to ring. This number turned out to be a private business number who was not happy having to field calls from Natwest Customers when he had his own business to run.
Retried 0800 015 4212 option 1 this time. Again offered six years statements so as I'm missing the four years 2002 - 2006 I asked the lady to send them and then asked to be put through to the department handling my claim as I had not had any response to any of my letters. Put though and found out that all letters were on the system but no estimation of time scale. So still no further foward but yet another name and date to go into the court bundle showning what a reasonable bloke I am

Hiya, I've noticed quite a few responses mentioning court bundles (both on MSE and CAG)

I was wondering what should go into the court bundle and if anyone has got an example I can look at (a link or an email document)

(ps....heard absolutely nothing back from NastyWest, so started MCOL proceedings.......14 days up on the 5th May)

Hi - not sure what's meant by 'the court bundle' to be honest. If you're claiming online through MCOL, you literally just complete the online document. However, it's worth sending the Court a copy of the statement of your charge details, to be filed with your claim.

    Hi Pam

Your right over it taking a while to go through once with the small claims although I suppose it depends which local cc your claim is with. FatWest defended my claim in March - I wrote to the court asking for a hearing date ASAP due to the stress being caused and received a date yesterday for the 4 July! So still got a while to wait yet. I am however going to use one of the suggestions for a letter from the CAG site - the one you actually recommended - to see if FatWest solicitors wil settle - I wont hold my breath though - think Iv just got to sit back and wait til nearer the 4th July and see what happens - will keep you informed JayneG

Can I just ask how do you put your update at the bottom of who you have claimed against and where you are up to - notice there are a few people who have them and just wondered how you did that!?
Nat West - MCOL March - FatWest defended - hearing date 4 July - 2300 claimed and still having charges put onto account!!

HSBC - sent 14 day - still waiting for reply. MCOL by end of week - claiming 795 - eventually paid out £560.

Halifax - sent for statements Feb - cheque cashed - nothing received - reported to FSA - paid up almost amount claimed before official complaint registered with FSA

Hiya - if you click on 'Quick Links' you can go to the section about signatures and create one for yourself. You can go in and update it any time.
Good luck with getting things resolved - I do think the Banks are just being bloody minded defending claims. They have no intention of showing up in court, and just want to keep us waiting months for OUR money. Only consolation is that its costing them money to pay our court fees, and increasing interest costs !!
