I got that email as well! I replied with this....

    Dear Mr Dix

Thank you for your reply although again I feel like I have not been told anything new. I keep being informed that it will be 7 / 8 weeks and to wait.

I'm sure you can understand my frustration at this. I was informed last week an offer had been made on my account and to wait another week. Yet when I called yesterday I was informed that no offer had been made and due to a massive backlog there is not likely to be an offer made any time soon. With all due respect I do not care how much of a back log you have, I would like some progress on my account.

This is money I have paid which I am due back and to tell me to wait 7 / 8 weeks before an offer is even made is unacceptable. When in the past 6 years did I make you wait to get your charges? Never! I had to pay them as you made sure I had no choice. If I was to call and inform you that I could not pay you for 7 weeks because I was busy and the amount I would pay you was unknown you would not accept it.

Due to this I am not going to accept being fobbed off time and time again. If I owed you money then you would pursue me to claim it and I am doing the same. A claim has been issued with the local county court for my money including interest and court fees.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course

Probaby a bit harsh but hey they are pi**ing me off!

My gf has sent her first letter off to the natwest asking for the charges for the past 12 months to be refunded. Its only £189 which is not alot to some, but as she is £200 o/d that makes her nearly in credit to reduce the overdraft.

We sent the first letter normal post to natwest bank head office, it was over 2 weeks ago and we have received nothing in the post. We plan to send the same letter again (stating that we sent another one 14 days earlier) to the same address but this time recorded delivery.

We are only asking for the previous 12 months as we cannot be bothered to ask for more than 12 months statements. The woman on the counter was happy to provide us with 12 months worth of statements FOC, therefore this was happy for us as the gf does not think she had any more charges before this date.

Now, as ive sent the first letter and had no response or acknowledgement fromt he firm, what do i do next.? Send the same letter, then wait 14 days, or should i just skip this and move onto the next step..

PS - What is the next step.?

You must be jumping out of your skin with excitement!!

Tell you, seeing County Court papers citing Natwest Bank as the Defendants and me as the Claimant really gave me a buzz !! Those so-and-so's (I have to be polite and not swear in a public forum :D ) never gave me any leeway, so no way was I giving them any.
I'll update my sig. as things progress!

 can someone help me please

i have just received my statements and gone through all the charges, i'm just about to write my letter requesting my charges back but am unsure which address to send it to? do i send it to the borehamwood address??

I sent mine to my branch (hand delivered to be exact) but you can use the Borehamwood address (which is fine too) but don't forget to keep copies of everything you send the bank & post it recorded signed for!!

    Good luck :D

Don't bother sending that letter again, go on to letter threatening court action LBA and give them 14 days to reply but do send recorded delivery.

I realise reading through here just how lucky I have been. I asked for my statements in February and posted back then how annoyed I was that I was sent someone elses via the post:mad: anyway I wrote asking for £1792 plus interest on 19th March and received a reply 31st March offering me the £1792 minus the interest. I accepted and yesterday received my cheque.:T

Keep going everyone, i may have been lucky due to me closing the account two years ago but I hope everyone is lucky. Many thanks for everyones tips and help, you've been brilliant:beer:
