Many thanks for your words and offer of help!
I got the 'Notice of Issue' today - my claim was issued on 17th April and will be deemed served on the 22nd. Natwest have until 6th May to reply.
After the hell that bank have put me through with their charges, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the document, with Natwest cited as the 'Defendant' :rotfl: :j

............ hmmmmmm  don't know what to say to that

    Hiya pal
I'd agree with jayanator on this one. It's a nice email etc, but....they wouldn't 'bear with us' - they just slapped on the bank charges! But you need to do what feels right to you

That's what I'm dreading - Nastywest defending my claim :(
Is the documentation difficult to deal with? I hate all the legal mumbo jumbo. I'm just hoping that, as they've made a verbal offer (but nothing in writing) that they'll just pay up. But maybe I'm hoping for too much...

    Hi

The documentation from Cobbetts looked very official but they obviously do this to frighten people. One of the things they will say in their defence is something like "the claimant making claim against the defendant but hasnt produced any paperwork to back this up" I simply wrote a letter back to them [if you do get this far let me know and Il let you have a copy of the wording] enclosing a copy of the spreadsheet. Also sent a copy of everything to the court asking them for hearing date ASAP due to the stress this is causing. Expecting to hear from them any day so will let you know what happens - cheers! JG
Nat West - MCOL March - FatWest defended - hearing date 4 July - 2300 claimed and still having charges put onto account!!

HSBC - sent 14 day - still waiting for reply. MCOL by end of week - claiming 795 - eventually paid out £560.

Halifax - sent for statements Feb - cheque cashed - nothing received - reported to FSA - paid up almost amount claimed before official complaint registered with FSA

Personally I would ignore the email and continue with the timetable laid out in this site. Stick to your guns and don't be fooled by their delaying tactics.

And don't be lured into feeling sorry for them having to deal with "all these claims" cause if they had played fairly in the beginning they wouldn't be having these problems now.

Yes I agree, I've preached to so many before me to stick to timescales ect so I think I should take some of my own medicine BUT natwest have a few days grace from me as I'm mad busy at the moment & haven't enough time to sit at the PC & concentrate on the forms, was hoping to do it tomorrow but something else has just come up  (should have filed the same day as frugalpam)

:rotfl: I know what you mean! You feel like telling them to...*&!%^* or writing and saying

I was trying to deal with finding money to put as quickly as possible into my account due to all the charges you took off me unlawfully, and hoped you would bear with me a while longer while I sorted things out, but you insisted on slapping more charges on me. As such, I'm not prepared to bear with you while you rummage your way through your backlog of claims:)

Thanks jayneg - I might well take you up on that offer :)

I did read over at the consumer action group that it was a good idea to write to the court once you'd filed your claim with a copy of the breakdown of charges. The reason for this is that the bank - if they decide to defend the claim - say there's insufficient information. Obviously there's no room in the MCOL claim form to include that info. I sent that off to Northampton with the request that the document was filed with my claim form. Don't know if it'll help - we'll see!
For anyone interested in finding more about this, click here to be taken to the article on the Consumer Action Group
