YIPEEEEEE all done and money now in my account.

i first wrote to natwest 19th feb asking for charges back and intrest and it was a total of £3033.28 i think. anyway i phoned then a week later and they said they had recived it and were sending out and offer for full amount. excellent. anyway by friday 9th i hadn't recived anything so i phoned them. spoke to a really nice lady who explained i have been offered full amount but it is 2282 , not the interest as they don't offer this. ok i thought. she said will send u an offer letter again as i didn't get first one. it arrived next day ( saturday) offereing the £2282. we thought about it and said yes we would accept that. so sent it back on monday. and yesterday ( wednesday) we had the £2282 transfered straight into our bank account. and we can keep account open. i am soooo chuffed.

i have transfered it into our high interest account while we work out what to do with it.

Thankyou martin and everyone on here.

It has been a stress free and very easy to do.

    Just to update you...

I phoned Natwest again today and asked how much longer I would have to wait for my refund to be paid in...

I have now been told that my money will not get paid in now as I am in the court stages??!! I replied by saying that yes I was in the court stages and had started them in February only to receive my offer letter on 28th Feb and agreed and sent back. Anyway I also asked if it was right that I have signed and agreed to a settlement and they are now saying that they will not pay it.

I am also trying to get hold of Cobbetts as apparently 'it's with them now'??! I have a feeling that they cannot just retract an offer is I have agreed??

The offer was not far off my original refund request dated December. It apparently does not matter that I agreed as a partial refund, even so if the court papers have been served to them and I then get my offer letter and return it, they do not then pay the money in...regardless of my agreement!

I have contacted the Financial ombudsman now as it is ridiculous...I do want to settle but keep being passed from one person to another as no-one wants to take responsibility!

I am just about to draft my next letter to Natwest and include the name of the court i will be making a claim at. Can someone tell me where i can make a claim, how i find the name of the court?
    Im a little confused.
If it's any help i live in Birmingham. Or maybe there is a website where people on here are making their claims?

    Thanks:o

I wasn't sure about this either but on all my claims I have just written 'court' or 'local court' in the letter and it hasn't made any difference so I suggest you just leave it at that if you are unsure ;)

Have just called my local Natwest where i made my initial claim and asked how long it would take them for me to receive my response and a possible offer. I was informed that they do not deal with the claims directly at the local branch, so was passed on to customer relations.
I initially sent a request on 5th March giving them 2 weeks to respond (as stated in Martin's draft letter)
The lady on the phone informed me that they had been inundated with requests, but my claim had been logged on 8th March and i was going to be made an offer (which she couldnt disclose on the phone) and also due to the inundation of claims that i should give them at least 3 weeks to receive a response. Therefore the date i should now wait until is 29th March.

I was wondering if anyone had, had the same response or whether anyone thinks this could just be an excuse to delay my claim?

Oh and if you want to know if your process is going through then this number may help

Stick to your timescales not theirs. If they have gone over the time limit you gave them in writing, continue onto the next step of your claim

    Hello

Got an offer letter from Natwest this morning offering me the full amount of charges miunus the interest. I'm going to reject it as I'm now in the moneyclaim system (have been for several weeks) and so want my court costs back too! My partner suggested I write back to them saying that as they have pursued the court case, i will only accept an offer in the region of x amount to cover costs I have incurred.

I was just wondering if anyone has has had any success in going this route or if its best to continue with my claim.

    Thanks!

PS It was a very shoddy letter - My name and county were mis-typed and the reply form said the offer letter was posted 7th March when the date of the letter was 9th March! I guess they are so busy now they dont have time to proof read anything!!

I had an offer from Natwest AFTER i had started court claim so wanted my court fee back too. I just rang them to tell them. They just said 'fine.. go ahead'. I received a cheque for the full amount incl interest & court fee a few days ago.

    Good Luck.
