    Hi,

I cannot believe Natwest. This bank is giving me a nervous breakdown !!

In December they charged us over 500 pound in charges putting us in financial difficulties......even more!! They offered no support or help.

In Jan Natwest failed to make a large payment from our account to our landlord making us extremely embarrased and yet again having to make up payments on a monthly basis to catch up putting even more strain on our finances.

I've just claimed all the charges for 6 years totalling 2127.00  and Im waiting for it to go into the account. However I have just looked at my account as my CHB is due to paid in and they have taken 152.00 pounds in charges for returning two payments for 1 pounds each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leaving me with no money in my account to even by a loaf of bread........

I've now been holding for 15 mins waiting for customer relations.....God help them!!!!!!!!!!!11:mad:

If I get no joy in getting these paid straight back into my account I am going to sue them for the Stress they have caused me, I'm going to the Financial Ombusman everything, I'm so on the edge of a breakdown because of them............

    Greggie (very distraught)

    Natwest : 2177.00 (Settled for 2127.00, paid today 14.3.07:beer:

That probably depends on if your reclaimed amount covers what you are overdrawn?? Can't see it making any difference to be honest, as when i claimed from HSBC in Jan,i was £450 overdrawn and had a default on my account....they paid me out the full amount within 4 days, and i just paid off what was owed.
Maybe its because you sent it internally instead of posting it?! As some have been telling you they have it,and others saying they haven't!!!

Hiya again cant beleive what has happened now . We have found out the money has been credited to our account and we are now 1870 quid in credit now but because our account is in recovery they are now saying we can not get to the excess what is our cash , and that it will take at least 10 more days to clear . We are so angry and are gonna phone the banking ombudsman in a bit .

We have quite a sizeable o/d with Natwest and would like to try and claim back charges, i am quite happy for any charges reclaimed (if we are succeddful) to reduce the amount of the o/d, is it worth putting this in any of my letters and if so how soon or should i wait and see if we are successful first.
Geberally i'm quite happy wtih n/w as a bank and have no desite to move so this seems like a win win - i think ???

Any thoughts on at what point i should suggest this too them would be good.]

    Thanks

If you claim on this account with an overdraft chances are they will pay you money into this account anyway ;)

So so true - when they want money out of us they are on the phone, writing letters, making charges etc. When they have taken money from us unlawfully and we want it back it's like trying to get blood out of a stone!
  • This last year i fell ill and couldn't work and like everyone else the accumulated bank charges snowballed to £1429.00, i wrote to my bank and insisted they pay the money owed with interest calculated at the current county court standard rate some £190.00. Since the first letter the charges have grown to £1523.00 from others i have found and charges applied since the first letter. The bank offered me the £1429 asking me to sign a statement to wave my rights to reclaim any further charges. As you will have guessed i have declined and and demanded that they repay the revised amount plus the interest but this time i gave them an option to meet me half way on the interest which i think is fair after all they charged me interest on the overdraft their charges created. Three weeks have passed as of last week when i filled in the Money Claim on line proceedings. I expect they will say they are going to submit a defence granting them a further 28 days. I think it will be very unlikely that they will indeed submit a defence as they will have to disclose how these charges and procedures are made up. If they do it will be a first and i will make sure every TV and Radio station are there to here the outcome.

Be strong and brave and get your money back it is yours after all and screw them for the interest too if they have caused you to go into the red with their charges.......

If anyone wants any spreadsheets on how to calculate compound interest for the county court let me know

    Andy
