Me too, Nick! .. they're next on my list.

I had to borrow £800 off my sister to get my account to a zero balance after an employee of theirs stripped me of my overdraft with them .. which they admitted to me was done in error .. but they wouldn't reverse the decision.

Their final figure to me won't be as much as Gnat West sent me .. but it'll be worth every penny :rotfl:

    Hi Ken
Don't know how LTSB deal with the charges issue, but as bankers they are much nastier than Fat West.
Best of Luck, I'll keep all posted with progress.
    Nick.

Here's a bit of a success story. I originally wrote to natwest on 18 january with the original letter asking for £856.85 (with interest). I gave them 14 days to respond (21 in my head as I sent ti to my local branch not head office).

I never recieved a response so i sent the second letter giving them 7 days to respond else i would make a court claim. I sent that letter on 20 February (a bit later than i planned but had things on my mind!), i recieved a letter from them on Friday 23 February offering me £804 (the amount without interest), which im happily accepting. The way i see it is i never thought i'd see any of that money again, let alone interest. I probably would have accepted less as i realise they are due at least something for the bother of me not controlling my spending, but dont tell them that!

Anyways i never heard from cobbetts, and with my account being about a grand overdrawn this should make it a bit more healthy. They did mention in this letter that should i not accept their charges in future then they may have to review my account and possibly offer me facilities where i cant go overdrawn or have direct debits. Not that it matters as im planning to close my account once my balance hits 0, and just start using my allience and leicester account.

Don't worry about the Royal Mail system giving errors and other unhelpful messages. The tracking system is not very good, but you can rely on your letter having been delivered.

Have received a letter from Natwest this morning offering the full amount £1005. I initially started doing this for SIL and friend and neither of them have theirs back yet:confused: ...anyway it was a closed account and a few charges were just outside the 6 year deadline but they have still offered to pay.

I called Natwest this morning to ask about getting a cheque instead as the account was closed in Dec 2001...and they said normally if the account is still open they will pay into that but if I can prove this is closed then I can request a cheque. On my last statment they sent me..it stated Account closed...so she said to send a copy of that in with a request for a cheque along with the signed letter I had to sign.

Im very happy and it didnt go to court!

    Good luck guys.
