Would it be possible for anyone to give me some advice with their experience of Natwest?
I currently have a substantial overdraft-that I am always in-as well as a business account that has been going for about a year. I could claim nearly £600 back in charges from 3-4 yrs ago and am anxious about loosing what I already have standing with Natwest.
Please could you let me know whether or not in your experience, have they been understanding or rather stroppy about it all?
Have you had accounts closed or other demands made?
Really would appreciate some guidelines on this before proceeding to stage 2.
Many thanks,
Regards,

Hi,
I asked Natwest for a copy of my statements, which I received within 10 days. I then sent a letter to Natwest on the 20/02/07 to ask for the charges to be repaid in full, I sent the letter to my local branch. They have sent me another copy of my statements. Do I send another letter asking for charges to be repaid in full to the Head Office, or do I just send the LBA when the 14 days is up.

Anyone thinking about doing this,do it, it cost me £5 for statments, £1 for a letter and one phone call, and i am now £1119.19 less in debt!!
Thanks again.

Any advice gratefully received..
I submitted a N244 form around 15th Feb to change particulars, and also entered an updated charges sheet. Anyway Cobbetts put completely the wrong claim number on correspondence letters to me and I stupidly might I add used the first claim number I saw which was their letter.
Anyway, so I went back into the court yesterday to re-submit with the correct claim number also with a copy of the letter I was about to submit to Cobbetts about unprofessionalism with using wrong claim number etc. The guy at the desk let me just change the claim number on my previous form rather than do a new one.
Submitted my N244 yesterday although date stamped 15th Feb, received a AQ from Cobbetts today asking that my case be struck out due to lack of particulars.
What happens in this case?? If I have already submitted my n244?
Thanks!0 -
i just phoned natwest to check they had recived the letter. spoke to a really nice lady. she said they had and its being dealt with and they are looking into it. i asked what the next stage was. and she replied as soon as we have checked the charges u have listed , we will write to u with our offer. she said it generally takes 10 days from reciving letter. but due to the amount they have been recieving it , it is about 3 week.s but they are saying a max of 8 weeks to cover themselfs.
i really pleased i phoned them as i wanted to def know they got the letter and they have. which is all good.0 -

If you send RD or Registered, wait 14 days then do the LBA giving them a further 7 days. By this time you should have either received a fob off letter or an offer letter. They are now claiming it is taking up to 8 weeks to deal with claims. Stick to your timescales and not theirs. After the 7 days of the LBA, you could ring them to see where they are with the claim you have put in. If no joy or an unsatisfactory answer proceed with court claim.
I received offer letter dated 29th jan, received 11th feb after i proceeded to court, they acknoweldged court claim on 8th Feb. The date of the post mark on the envelope the letter came in was 9th Feb
It's as if they sit on them waiting to see what you wil do next, if you submit court claim, you get the letter if you dont they wait until they have to send you the letter.
Good luck:rotfl:"Penny Pinching Winch"

Fat West only charge £5, and you need to make the cheque out to National Westminister Bank Plc.Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)
