So please post the section in the road traffic act that states they can't park anywhere they want providing restrictions aren't in place.
They can't park on single or double yellow lines, zig-zag lines. On pavements, someones front garden.....the list is endless. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
But every night. Unless the driver can prove that it is there during the normal course of his business, the local authority can prevent him from doing so.No they can't unless they create a byelaw or apply an overnight ban or weight limit.
Well, derrrrr. :TThe greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I agree, let a few tyres down a few times in a week. That will make them think again.
It worlked where we lived near Dover many moons ago.The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.0 -
Most drivers -commercial or otherwise don't want the police taking too much of an interest -so perhaps a word with the local community police officer might help if they "mention" they need to park a bit more considerately.
If the minibus is private hire a word to the local council transport department might be useful as most companies have council contracts and words from them carry weight .
As for lorry drivers if Hammyman is a typical example of attitude-well frankly they deserve everything they get. Consideration is a two way street (no pun intended) and it's a shame those who ARE professional (which includes reasonable consideration of others) get tarred with the same brush as the inconsiderate bully boys who think having a big truck is a sign of manhoodI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I think I might pass a link for this thread onto a couple of trucking forums. I'm sure that all those people there who graft their backsides off 60+hrs a week working all kinds of unsocial hours and going out in a 44 tonne truck in weather you daren't even drive your cars in just so you can go to shops with full shelves and get your newspaper and post in the morning would love to know just how much disdain you have for them and how disgusting your attitude is towards them.
Maybe it'll persuade some of them to stick two fingers up and go home instead of doing that extra bit.0 -
Oh, so its not actually a lorry at all and your sister is just another in a long line of clueless halfwits giving lorries and their drivers a bad name for something they've not actually done.
Thanks for clearing that up.
If it is indeed a Luton, she's out of luck.
This is the type of post thats uncalled for . Part copying a post too isnt really fair either and calling my sister a halfwit is often punishable .I suggested a Luton as its a smaller than normal removals van (is a removals van a van or a lorry never heard it being called a removals lorry regardless how big it is)(in my town there is a company called West Wallasey Van Hire but they hire bigger than vans i think there may be lorrys but its not called west wallasey van & lorry hire) But as she said on the phone its bigger than your tranny but a small removals van I thought of a luton to give the helpful people here a image of the size of vehicle. As for the large glass van/wagon/lorry (it has curtain sides)and the 29 seater coach/bus/passenger transporter(sorry not too sure if this includes the driver it just says 29 seats if you want to pull this apart. If your being helpful please do so if your trying to be a smart 4rse and pull peoples post up i would rather you didnt post. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -

I doubt it will, who would turn down the extra overtime pay just because they don't like what's been posted on a forum?0
