I'll still wait for his link to anything that states you can work for 15 hours a day.

There is no legislation that states you can work for 15 hours a day. It does, however, state that you must have a minimum of 9 hours rest in a 24 hour period, so by default the maximum you can work is 15 hours (multi-manning excepted).
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    No.
A driver may reduce his daily rest period to no less than 9 continuous hours, but this can be done no more than three times between any two weekly rest periods, otherwise it's an 11 hour break.
And that doen't include the other mandatory breaks.

Driving is as I said above.
    9 hours.

What do you mean by "No."?

You seem to think I am incorrect, then wrote virtually the same thing. If a driver can take a 9 hour rest, then that means he can work for 15 hours.

I am completely familiar with all drivers' hours regulations, thank you. ;)

How about the one that states you can only drive for 9 hours, not 15?
Hence no, you can't drive for 15 hours, only 9?

Or the other one that states you must take 11 hours rest, not 9 as you state?

You haven't read my posts properly. I haven't said that a driver can drive for 15 hours. I said he can WORK for 15 hours, which is correct. During that time he could drive for a maximum of 10 hours.

I'm amazed he can find the time to stop.

Must be a good job, a driver who doesn't drive for 1/3 rd of his working day. Even MP's work more than that.

    But I give up.

So no rest breaks, no lunch, you just keep going for 15 hours non-stop then.
Or do all truck drivers get all paid breaks, unlike the rest of the working world, that maybe get an hour unpaid for lunch?
It's a good life if you do.

(still only 9 hours driving by the way not 10)

    You should. :p

The driver would be required to take a total of 1½ hours break during his 15 hour working day if he drove for his MAXIMUM of 10 hours.

    Article 6, EC regulation 561/2006:

    1. The daily driving time shall not exceed nine hours.
However, the daily driving time may be extended to at most
10 hours not more than twice during the week.

Lot of animosity here towards wagon drivers, rather unfounded as the OP has confirmed it is not a haulage vehicle parking in the street.

No trucks on our roads mean no goods making it to the shops, any that do will be more expensive as transport costs increase. We no longer have the rail infrastructure to reduce road transport, so road transport is the only option.

Yes trucks can be annoying when overtaking each other, but I am held up more often by car drivers who believe they can sit in the middle or outside lanes even when not overtaking, or because they are turning right 3 miles up the road.

Most UK drivers are incapable of driving a regular sized car properly, never mind anything bigger. So all you truck haters (is it envy?) really need to stop looking for the easy target.

The OPs' sister does not own the road, so either park her own car there or suck it up.
