I'll leave it to you and the Hammy, you'll be fine down there together.
If you ever agree on what the job is, and what the hours are, post up again and I'll check it for you.
I've already explained that I know exactly what the hours are. Each of my posts has been entirely accurate (I invite you to demonstrate otherwise; take all the time you need). All I did was respond to your post asking Hammyman to provide a link to the legislation that said you could work for 15 hours a day. I explained that there is nothing that says this, which is correct. That's because the legislation is written differently - instead of saying that you can work for 15 hours it says you must take a minimum of 9 hours off. The 15 hour working day is therefore implied from this. You said that was wrong, but it isn't.
Rest assured, I won't be needing you to check anything for me, but if you need further help, let me know.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Hint- when you go back to google, check the compensation if you do take the 24 hour mimimum weekly break, required by the third week.
But then you're probably still driving.
It's been fun, but enough's enough.
Hope the op gets it sorted.0 -
I've been in a job where I was the last person lorry drivers wanted to see! Personally I found people were fine as long as you treated them nicely and with a bit of humanity. .
VOSA?
Likewise... give them grief and they'll go the whole hog... run legit they'll leave you alone... Start bending it and they'll have the whole fleet in across the country regular....
I've been stopped lots in the past and they have been great even when I've been found to be naughty boy:D0 -
Most UK drivers are incapable of driving a regular sized car properly, never mind anything bigger. So all you truck haters (is it envy?) really need to stop looking for the easy target.

This is so true it makes me smile
Well said KwaksIf Adam and Eve were created first

Typical lorry driver - thinks the world's against him.0 -
Have you ever driven along the A34? Every truck driver seems to relish a slight incline where they can pull out, slow everyone else down because the truck they are driving is 0.000000mph faster than the truck they are overtaking. B***y w*****s.
(except a moronic truck driver on the two lane A34 apparently....:rotfl:)
Yes fairly often and totally agree it is very annoying!:j0 -

Well said Kwaks
Envy truck drivers?
With the number of guys I know that have either lost their jobs or taken pay cuts?
The number of small to medium local haulage businesses that had either went to the wall or had to cut back drastically?
And finally the number of them that hate their job.
Yep, green with it.
Thats not a dig at truckers BTW (I know what a sensitive breed you are) thats the reality.0 -
The average working week in the industry is 55hrs. The maximum working day is 15hrs and the maximum working week is 84hrs. When was the last time you worked 15hrs a day or 55hrs a week
Not that I could prove it on here, but I would happilly bet a months wages that I work far more 15 hr days than most, if not all lorry drivers.
As to a 55 hr week! During an average month, If I didn't exceed 55 hrs on 3 out of 4 weeks then there would be something strange going on.
No doubt you won't believe this (not that I really care), and will state that these hours are illegal (which they are not), but I'm sure that with enough "googling" you will be able to find out why these working hours are permitted.0 -
Does the EU have laws concerning the working hours of fading popstars though?0
