I am... fuming... HSBC promised my reclaimed charges would be in yesterday. Today, it isn't in and they have added another £25 charge to my account for being overdrawn... I am waiting for customer services to call me back (I have already got incredibly irate once). They have half an hour before I get REALLY mad... This money should have been in last Friday. With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0

Grr! HSBC had no good reason for not paying my money back ("I dunno what's going on... sorry") and have promised to get my money to me by midnight tonight but I've already called the ombudsman who was actually quite suprised by the way HSBC have behaved so they are getting involved to hopefully get the money that they have charged me overnight back.
And I told the woman at the complaints department at HSBC to put a note on my account that that was the last time I would be calling and all further correspondents would be through the courts...With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0 -
the 14 day letter i sent hsbc has now run out so i'm about to send the LBA.
I just rang them to get an update and they informed me that a response letter has been issued and is being checked before being sent out, "probly early next week", so my question is "should i wait till i receive this letter to see what it reads before sending the LBA?"0 -

Have just finished going through all my statements on line. I've just been using an excel spreadsheet to document my charges but all the information I can find online is 'Total Charges to 17xxxxx'.
Is this enough information to send?0 -
Do you know if this total includes overdraft interest that you can't claim? The bank may well ask for a detailed description at a later date as they will check what you have claimed for.0

I have requested my statements and have received 19 envelopes with statements and put them into date order.
They date back to March 2004 and has now been a few days without any further statements received.
Do I wait until the 40 days are up or do I need to send another letter out asking for the rest of the statements now.0 -

mictt09 wrote:If you make a claim through money claim online does it cost anything
yes it does cost, but see the table of charges, however it is worth bearing in mind that if you pay those fees to moneyclaim or the county court, you are entitled to add them to your claim, therefor in theory, costing you nothing.
hope this helps0 -
Broaders wrote:Hi all! Myself and my friend have both sent out the second letter to HSBC bank, stating the amount we wish to reclaim. Whilst HSBC has responded within the 14 days as requested, they have issued to both of us a holding letter stating that they are "looking into matters". Is this common? Should we be taking further action on this period?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks!
Hi I got this too, and I didn't bug them till they next replied (just yesterday! took about 1 month though) and I think other people had the same experience as well (from what I read in the forum, quite some pages back I believe). I think it should be fine, because HSBC offered to refund my full claim (was so pleased!) Just sit tight and good luck!0
