hi there, would be grateful for any advice or info,
having sent off 1st letter and summary of charges (£2700) to hsbc, was expecting to receive letter saying 'no' charges are lawful etc, however they have said 'I am looking into the matters you have raised and will contact you with a full response as soon as i have completed my investigations'.
What should i do now, wait for their investigation or proceed with second letter, many thanks to you all.

Wait for the two weeks, then send the next letter. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

However, i was in a branch today and in a nutshell my borrowng ability with them has suddenly dissappeared. I know for a fact that i was 'pre-approved' for loans of up to £10K before Christmas, as well as overdrafts, flexi loans etc. Today my borrowing ability with them was £nil for everything. The customer advisor i spoke to said she hadn't seen this scenario before and that she couldn't understand it, having checked my HSBC customer/credit profile.
Is this because i am currently in dispute with them or is it the fact that now i've claimed off them, they don't want to know me?
Has anyone else experienced banking difficulties post a successful claim? Ideally i would want to continue banking with HSBC, but obviously wouldn't if meant future problems!! Any advice?
Between the 1st letter and the 2nd the bank sold my accounts to debt collection agency. I haven't used the account for some time and luckly have an account elsewhere but of course this hasn't done my credit rating any good. I have issued court proceedings and they have acknowledged service saying they will defend. I wonder if I will be the 1st one to land up in court as they really seem to have it in for me!:eek:0 -

Well my account was credited yesterday with the accepted amount of £453
I am really chuffed, it has only taken two letters (no postage as I took them into the branch), 3 phone calls and the recorded letter sent accepting the offer
I fully expect them to close my account now but I didn't use it anyway!0 -
Cheer up Suzy.
Sounds like I'm in the same boat with Lloydstsb!! All the evidence seems to point to no case ever having gone to court. I'm starting wonder if I'm gonna be the first!!! I'm a bit scared to but figure I've only a little to lose but maybe a lot to gain. I say stick at it and all the best to you.

Go and open another account with someone else and never grace the steps of HSBC again, thats what I've done it soon makes you realise how unfriendly and incomptetant HSBC are. You will soon build up a credit rating with another bank (if you keep your account in order and don't get any charges!) then it will be their loss not yours :rotfl:Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0 -
Took £600 overdraft away, stopped internet access and took card back! Issued claim through money claim on the 31st so will just have to wait. Got a feeling they dont like us either!0

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has a telephone number for the infamous Colin Langdale's department?
I've received a letter from him with the standard "we'll put them in the post" (subsequently misplaced!) but I've since cleared some boxes out and found all but about 10 statements which would save HSBC some money in posting 6 years worth out to me.
Thanks, Sue0 -
I have recently requested details of my charges from HSBC. I specifically asked for details of my charges only but received a letter from the bank stating that they have noted I have asked for my statements (which I definitely did not request) and subsequently I received 6 years worth of statements through the post much to my postmans disgust.
I read with interest that other HSBC customers have received the same and I believe that in the current environment of doing our upmost to save the planet that there is a social responsibility by the banks to minimise wastage. I personally believe that the banks are throwing their toys out of the pram and trying to inconvenience those reclaiming bank charges. Does anyone have a view on this? I am seriously considering writing to the FSA about this as I think it is a HUGE waste of resources that we are supposedly trying to save.
Would appreciate comments on this.0
