hi patch
can imagine your feeling pretty p!!!!! off right now. They can never give a straight answer. You might be pleasantly surprised when letter comes, i would imagine if its being passed to a supervisor then it hasnt actually been sorted yet, you phoning them has actually brought it to their attention that their time is up. Wouldn t hold yor breath though for letter til you ve got it in your hand. As you said keep ringing them but give them only to end of week for letter to be received.
Hope you get letter soon.

Well, it's took me all day, but have worked out the interest to my claim!! (kept losing the info!) Posted my letter to FOS to complain about HSBC, so complaining about charges of £9922 + int = £12k + !! Stated that over 4 times they had promised an offer letter was in the post, but had rejection letter! Will take at least another 3 months i know, but have nothing to lose.
I couldn't have done this without this web site and the posts in it you know, so thanks to all :T :T :T

traceppp
Bloody hell £12k + , they are absolutely mad not to have made you an offer as you said you would have taken an offer if they had offered £8k. Maybe their maths isn t very good, because by my calculations you will come out of this £4k more.
Its ridiculous amount of money, they ve obviously got money to burn, but then again its not there money in the first place !!!!!
Have you spoken to them today, you said you were going to try

Hi Lou
Yes I did phone but only to be told that they had no authority to speak to me it had got to be in writing, same with e mail advising me to contact FOS if I had a problem  Makes me worried that they think they're ok!! Anyway, phoned a solicitor aswell, who said I'd done most of the work myself anyway and advised me to go thru the FOS, as if they took the case on it would prob take longer! - a solicitor who didn't want the case??!!
We'll see how it goes........another wait ZZZZZzzzzzzzz
Really hope you get an offer

Hi
I just called them again today and they promise they have sent a full response letter on the 18th, yesterday. Apparantly it will take 10 days to arrive. I don't live far away from where they send out letters from so thats interesting.
Anyway I will let you know if and when I do get a letter. Good luck to you guys hope nobody is left waiting too long0 -
Calling all bank workers
HI all,
Just wondered if anyone knows how a letter can take ten days to be received !!!!!!!!!!!! , as patch has been told that, also traceppp was told several times that a letter had been sent and would take a while to be received. In the end she never received the letter they were suppose to off posted.
Sorry but these banks are taking the absolute !!!! out of us. I must try that one sorry but i ve posted your cheque but it will take ten days, How ridiculous.
Im normally a really laid back sort of person(to laid back ive be told) but this is really getting to me. If we weren t all so desperate for money we wouldn t mind how long it took and take them immediately court and claim the interest as well.
Anyway if theres anyone reading this that works for a bank dealing with these bank charges can they throw some light onto the situation,
We are not having ago at you just the banking system that seems to be inplace messing with peoples hopes of a letter.
I feel much better now (lol)

I have today emailed 'hearings@cardiff.countycourt.gsi.gov.uk' with the following. If anyone else is in a similar situation and wants to do the same to Cardiff or any other court, please feel free to cut and paste to your hearts content. I'll keep you posted......

Re: Case No. *******
I am one of the many claiming for repayment of bank charges from HSBC bank.
I am aware that HSBC are no doubt inundated with these claims at present, however I considered that a small claim via the MoneyClaimOnline facility was the only way to ensure that HSBC took my claim seriously, and made any attempt, in my opinion, in reaching a reasonable settlement in a reasonable period of time.
Since I started the process, I have been made an offer by HSBC, which I respectfully declined, suggesting, again in my opinion, a more reasonable settlement (less than the original claim). Despite continuous efforts to speak to someone within HSBC, I have simply been told that the 'relevant department' is still dealing with the claim, and since that DG Solicitors are dealing with the claim, and unsurprisingly are as difficult to speak to as HSBC themselves, even though I am lead to believe that DG Solicitors are HSBC's 'in house' litigation team.
HSBC have filed their defence to my claim and I am now awaiting our hearing at your court on 14th August 2007.
I am more than willing to continue through the process until our hearing date, confident that my claim will be upheld. However, I am sure the court are aware that HSBC seem to historically waste both claimants and courts time alike by defending claims, only to settle at the 'last moment' before the date of the court hearing. I therefore ask that Cardiff County Court consider my claim, along with all others of a similar nature currently in process against HSBC, and contact HSBC to obtain some assurance that they are not intending to waste the court's time.
I have also contacted the Financial Services Ombudsman, applying a similar request to my particular case in an effort that my claim be dealt with and settled with as little time and effort wasted as possible, noting that the claim has now been in progress for some 16+ weeks.
I would suggest to you that the fact that HSBC continue to make settlements is in itself evidence that they are possibly wasting your time, and that you should, if you haven't already, request some assurances from HSBC as detailed above, and if found that HSBC are indeed wasting court time, necessary measures be put in place to combat this.
I look forward to a full response from you on this issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information.
Sincerely

Thanks for the advice, sent my charges breakdown to D&G and also faxed them. So hopefully something will happen before we end up in court (date via MCOL 10th August) So fingers crossed. Claiming £6K but willing to accept £4K, so we will wait and see.0
