i won t type what i said aloud when i read your message, it is absolutley disgraceful. Have you phoned them, how dare they tell you a letter had been sent, they are liars, if you havent phoned them then do! i would put a complaint into financial odbusman immediately and tell them what has happened. The staff have lied to you time after time im sure that is breaking the bank code. if they won t offer you settlement over phone today inform them you are now entitled to all the interest.

    SO SO SO SORRY

WISH THEIR WAS SOMETHING WE COULD DO TO HELP.

DON T GIVE UP KEEP PHONING THEM

    LOU X

Thanks everyone for your kind words, they do help cos i just cried today! It's the fact they told me there was an offer in the post LIARS!!   Don;t worry tho i hope it goes to court - gonna be even more with interest! O well another wait begins!! Hope your result is better than mine

 What are they playing at??!! No wonder you are  I would be too! They told you an 'offer' was in the post, did you get any names? They always state 'calls may be recorded', I wonder if they got that on tape! That is diabolical behaviour I am gobsmacked

Make sure you take them for every penny now!!

1st thing I did when I got home was call the FO to complain, they're going to send out a complaints form to me.
Yes, I did get names - FOUR of their staff told me an offer letter was in the post, & even explained that should I choose to accept (sounds like Mission Impossible eh?!) then to fill in the paperwork and send it back!! Why tell me that if it aint true!! This has got to be grounds for a good complaint
They probably think I won;t do anything cos I'm overdrawn with them, but I have another bank account so :kisses: (!!! not face!) to them!! I think I.m going to get a Solicitor to deal with my claim, cos at the mo can't cope with a stressfull full time job, elderley parants and this aswell!
BUT REST ASSURED I SHALL CARRY ON HSBC YOU LOAD OF MONEY GRABBING LIARS

ive just got my letter from HSBC offering me the full £331 i asked for.. good news but...

they've charged me again a few days ago (£35 arrangement fee for going overdrawn) and im confused as to whether i can claim for this too....

the letter they sent with the other states "this represents an offer in respect of the charges applied up to and including 11 june 2007" and the new charge is about me going overdrawn on 8th june but because the charge wont be applied until the 30th june can i still claim it back?

ps. can anyone confirm the address im supposed to send the signed form back to?

so do i just start all over again for this one £35 charge? send the first letter then the second etc?
  • dear all,

I finally got through to the bank, having sent the 2nd letter offering a settlement figure. i',m claiming about 7k with interest. I spoke to the service rep who stated that the FSA had allowed them up to 8 weeks to respond to a bank charge reclaim due to the volume. She ignored everything I said re my14 day offer stating I should receive an offer letter at the end of the 8 weeks (11th July).

Has the FSA made such a ruling?, should I ignore them & go straight to court ?
    any suggestions welcome.

PS this is my 1st post

Ok, just spoke to HSBC re the offer of £820 they made, which is apparently 85% of the total amount I claimed. I said that they'd not offered the full amount and I was unhappy, that I'd settle for the £965 or might head to court. I was told to state my claim in writing, and that it would be placed in a queue to be dealt with by a supervisor. She couldn't tell me how long the queue was! Does anyone know?

If it was a long queue I'd head to MCOL as it's a difference of about £350 between the offered amount and the amount with interest.

Has anyone been told the same thing when they've done what I've done today?
Got £820 back from HSBC! Now entering comps like mad with the hope of winning a nice long holiday....

Pain in the bum, but yes I think you'll have to go thru the same process, which is exactly what i'm going to do once all mine are sorted, as they are still charging exhorbitant fees! It might mean they'll pay up more quickly being as tho you have already claimed.
