    Managed to get my statements online and was quite shocked and embarassed when I totalled up the charges.

    Feels good though to be on the road to hopefully getting some money back from them.

    Going to send off the letter asking for my money back tomorrow so will be keeping my fingers crossed!

    Jaymac, I know that feeling, I was the same! :o It also made me really cross though :mad: when I realised just how much they'd had off me and realised that it wasn't entirely my fault I'd been struggling all these years! Do you mind me asking how much you are claiming? It's a good feeling when you actually get the claim in the post though, I'd send it by recorded delivery if I were you and send it direct to the Service Management Team.

    Well done!

    Hi. Take it you never got letter this morning, if i was you if it dosent arrive tomorrow, i would phone them up again and ask whether its been sent and if so if it was 1st or 2nd class. They have stalled long enough now, i read somewhere on here each complaint to the financial ombudsman costs the bank £400. Maybe try and find out if thats correct and use that as ammo.

    let me know

    Was also shocked & embarrassed at my charges - totalling nearly £10K!! HSBC have had nearly 10K :mad: :mad: :mad: !! No wonder we could never get out of debt, i bet you most of us wanted to, but these huge money grabbing faceless financial institutions wouldn't let us! Let's take on the Big Boys and get our money back ;)
    Sent off your letter & don't give up, it'll be worth it in the end!
