I have finally had a call from HSBC today to discuss thier offer

My offer should be today or tomorrow (claim 2636 excl interest) and I'm anticipating an offer shaving at least 700 off the claim , so be interested to know how it went as will prob go down same road

    well done again.

I just got off the phone with Rob from HSBC's solicitors and he gave me a wealth of information regarding how they work!

they file for defence just to avoid judgement against them right away.

the reason it takes so long is due to sheer volume too. there is no way of speeding it up apparently...

i asked how they came to that figure he stated that it was just an offer and i queried why they would not pay my bank charges is full and he said ok we will send out new offer letter today. I did sent this message earlier today and dont know if that was what prompted the call

I sent an online message stating 2 options that i saw

    1) HSBC pay charges requested or
    2) Going through the courts costing HSBC, charges, accrued interest and court costs

Option 1 was preferable to both parties as i wouldnt have to wait so long and HSBC would save over £700.00

Option 2 will be both time consuming and costly.
and could somebody contact me today either declining or accepting my offer so that we can move on as the claim has been going on since 01/03/07

I did also have a simular conversation the other day with the lady that answered the phone and she said the manager would be looking into it but is busy with backlog, i suggested she goes up and kicks the manager and say Ms XXX says everytime you limp that will remind you to call her, she laughed but said best not as i will probably get asked to leave the building........

Good luck with yours i will look out for your post to see how it goes :)

    Hi

Sent my LBA to HSBC on Monday :). All week have been happily using card. Tried to withdraw cash today, only to find machine's swallowed the card! :(. Phoned HSBC to be told that this couldn't be discussed over the phone, but woud have to go into branch. Are the two events connected I wonder??

Funny - when they were taking money, they could discuss it all day on the phone.... As soon as I have a problem. they won't discuss over the phone!

Not too worried as have set up parachute anyway. I had a feeling this might happen :D

    Hi
I went down to my local county court and put my claim in for £7000+int as i was exempt from charges. I recieved a letter stating the HSBC had 28 days to respond.
Today i had a letter from the court stating the bank want to defend the whole claim and a D+G solicitors were acting on there behalf:mad: .
Is this just a stalling tactic or am i going to have to buy a suit and go to court and battle with people who do this for a living

Any suggestions or past experiences would be very much appreciated
