Ta guys! Checked it over all through. Done half this morning. Grim reading, LOL!
Couple of questions for y'all. I'm about to try and claim £2000 back in charges from HSBC.
I've been offered an account with co-op. Asked for a £1000 OD to cover any shortfall in the HSBC account which is maxed at its £1500 limit.
I assume its safe to say they'll close my account at the end of it all?
Can I assume they'll demand payment of the overdraft as soon as they recieve the first letter?
The Co-op parachute is for a £480 OD which should be enough to cover a shortfall, but they want my account transferred from HSBC, which I obviously cant do. I realise now, a basic account will be a temporary answer, but will I still be able to get a similar OD arrangement after my claim is over, as I can now? Just in case.
Thanks guys.0 -

All You Need Is A Basic Parachute Account, HSBC Dont Seem To Be Closing Peoples Accounts Although Please Dont Take That As A Definate (Have A Look @ The `Has Your Bank Closed Your Account Thread`)
When you send your 1st letter HSBC wont come back and say you must pay off your overdraft, the only thing will be that you get your money back which they will pay into your account and will therefore come off your OD and then they might say, clear the remaining balance and change banks (worst case scenario)

How long do i wait before chasing after the first letter?
They recieved my first letter 8th March, and sent me a letter acknowledging this dated the 20th march. Nothing else yet.
When do i send them the 2nd letter, threatening court action? How long have you waited before the 2nd letter?
Thanks.0 -

Just wait 14 days, so get it off NOW! Then keep calling and badgering them. If you have the money, put in a court claim 14 days after the 2nd letter you are about to send, if not, just keep badgering them and wait. They HAVE to have sorted your claim in 8 weeks although the average is 5. So ether claim or wait, I think ether way takes about the same amount of time. The will to save every money saving penny we can0 -

Hi- I have already totalled and added interest to my previous charges, and written to HSBC asking for them to be repaid. Around 14 days after sending this letter I got a letter from HSBC saying that someone was looking into it and would be in touch. This was over 14 days ago and I have since heard nothing. Is this just HSBC trying to delay or scare me off? I'm sending them a letter saying that I will be pursuing the matter through the courts today, was just wondering if anyone else had received a similar letter during their claims process?0
