Have sent off my first letter off today requesting charges of £609 plus interest of £183.52 totaling £792.52 be refunded to my account, I have online banking so have was up till 2am yesterday totalling up all my charges and getting really more and more frustrated.
Can anyone who has claimed for charges against HSBC let me know how far they had to go before they got their money refunded.
Will let you know what happens in the next 14 days.0 -

I have complained about it over the telephone - they tell me their terms and conditions changed in December 2006. Am I being fobbed off? I can't make any sense from the terms and conditions. Can anyone tell me whether I can still try and claim this back? I have just a normal current account.
Thanks
Zap - yes, you can claim for this. It's precisely these charges that this campaign is aimed at stopping. Their terms and conditions are irrelevant with regard to the unfair banking charges. We're campaigning because they are unfair - re-read Martin's main article if you're unsure - as he says 'just because someone tells you their going to punch you before they do it doesn't make it right'. Good luck!Lou0 -
I RANG HSBC TODAY BECAUSE MY DEADLINE WAS UP ON THE 9TH .. THEY SPOKE TO ME BECAUSE I FINALLY QUESED MY SPECIAL`CODE` HA!!
BUT THEY SAID THEY HAD 8 WEEKS AND I COULD DO WHAT I WANTED I WOULD NOT GET ANYTHING BEFORE 8 WEEKS..
I BEGGED ON THE PHONE (SHAMEFUL I KNOW) SAYIN I WOULD ACCEPT LESS BUT SHE WOULDNT BUDGE, SAID THAT I WOULD HEAR FROM THEM AFTER THE 8 WEEK TIMESCALE..
I NEARLY CRIED(SAD I KNOW) .. MY CLAIM IS FOR JUST UNDER £800 AND I CAN SEE THEM SENDING ME A PAULTRY OFFER NOW I SAID I WOULD ACCEPT LESS... I MEANT LESS AS IN MAYBE 650-700
I CANT AFFORD TO DO A CLAIM UNTIL NEXT MONTH BY WHICH TIME THE OFT RULING WIL BE IN AND ILL HAVE NO CHANCE OF RE-CLAIMING ALLL THE CHARGES
I HATE HSBC GRRR ..
SORRY I JUST HAD TO SHARE THAT!!! IM SO ANGRY I COULD CRYXX
Natalieee - don't give up hope you! We've been chasing HSBC for roughly the same time. I'm waiting for AQ etc to come through now as apparently they're defending. Hope an offer is on its way soon...
Don't worry about the OFT ruling, it is not likely to affect us - especially if you get to the MCOL stage first.
Now put down that hankie and get another letter off. Having said that if the 8 weeks is almost up, you might find you get close to what you want - if not, ring again and if they won't negotiate you'll have to send a LBA.
Keep with the programme...Lou0 -
good morning all xx
just got my letter this morning from Colin Langdale HSBC,:j thanking me for my letter dated on the 7th march concerning my bank charges.
he says, iam looking into the matters you have rasied and will contact you with a full response as soon as i have completed my investigations.
in the meantime,i enclose a copy of our leaflet which explains how thes matters are dealt with.
are all the letters he sends out the same?cause i read on a different forum, that that peson got a letter the same as mine but was told that he should hear from them by aprilthere was no date mention in my letter.
so i was just woundering if all the letters they send out are the same or different??
so fingers crossed for me that i hear from them soon,do i start counting down the days from when the letter was sent out to me(19th march) or todays date which is the day i got this letter??
thanks clarex0 -
Sent letter requesting £1034.00, and response within 14 days into HSBC branch today, and got a receipt.
I'll keep posted with what happens0 -
Hi Clare,
I got that letter too yesterday morning from good ole Colin, it was dated the 15th March but i didnt get it till i sent the threatening letter on Monday!
It's just a standard stalling tactic:mad:0 -

Back again,
I have received the Fob off letter, telling me they will investigate and let me know in 4 weeks.
The trouble is my wife and I are a bit scared about sending the next letter threatening court action in 7 days. We are having a bit of trouble opening another account, I don’t really want a basic account with an Electron card as you cant use them anywhere.
Should I go ahead with the letter and hope they offer me a good amount and don’t shut the account.
I get the fealing your all going to say yes go for it.....

The response to my first letter sent out on the 13th Feb said the same but the response to the second letter received on the 15th March said that they would get back to me by the 12th April.
So happy reclaiming.
