    I'm claiming back approx £1300, I used the first template and they replied with "We're investigating, we'll get back to you shortly."

    Nice to have a response, I thought. I was just getting ready to send the second letter after 2 weeks of giving them time to "investigate" when another letter arrived saying;

    "Sorry it's taking so long, but we're investigating still and we will have a response for you by the 29th March".

    Odd how the OFT decision is due around that time isn't it ? Do they think that I can't see they're putting me off until they get a more "official" or reasonable stance in their favour so they don't have to pay me back the full amount - Anyone else had responses like this ?
    Stick to your own deadlines......the bank are just using delaying tactics. If you have not received a reasonable response from them (we are looking into this is not a reasonable response) the go ahead and file your court papers..you cannot abide by the dates they give in the letters they send or you would find yourself in the same position in a few months time.

    If it helps I have been through the same process and received pretty much the same letters.......I filed my court papers and they acknowledge them, then said they would defend, I then filed my allocation questionnaire with the court and finally they sent a letter offering me the full amount requested if I settle before court......its worth hanging in there and I would definately force the issue by sticking to your deadlines as set out in the letters you have sent...dont hang around for them or you will never get a resolution to this matter......also they offered to settle for half the amount I wanted I refused and hung on in there and have finally received the amount I wanted......it takes time but you will get there.

    Good luck

    Hi
    I think most of the advice is to send the second letter to your branch. You can get the address out of the phone book if its not on a cheque book.
    Good luck

    Hi
    Whilst working out my bank charges i noticed that the bank deducted £150 for a credit card i thought i'd paid off and cancelled the previous year. The deduction date is 8 March 2001. How strict are they on the six year rule? I've written to them asking for statements from the credit card, i didn't notice it at the time cos i was having a baby and and moving and stuff.

    They will check and deduct any charges outwith the 6 year limit.

    Help please.

    I have challenged HSBC for my bank charges over the last 6 years. I have received my statements, worked out the interest and sent the letter requesting £2508.92 giving 14 days to respond. They responded on the 10th day and said they would investigate and respond. This is over the 14 days, (which was 28th February) how long do i leave it before i challenge again and threaten court action?

    Thanks for your help

    Richard
    If i need it I can't afford it

    If what goes around comes around, i've started a BIG circle :p
