Hi
This is my first post:o
I am at the stage of sending the 3rd letter, but i have just realised i have made a big mistake. I have previously written to HSBC saying that they owed us £1298 in bank charges, and I have just now put all the charges on to excel and printed it off to send with the 3rd letter and they all add up to £1460.50p, I don't know how this has happened. What do i do now ? do i ask for the new total on the 3rd letter??

Hi Everyone. I'm new to all this and wish I had found this website sooner. I sent off my letter requesting the last six years's statements. Today I was looking through some of the old statements that I have and I noticed a few charges where They have paid a direct debit or cheque when there was not enough funds in the account say for about £10, but have charged me £32 for it. Would I be able to claim thase charges back as well? I appreciate your help.January GC £38.35/£1500

I didn't even tell them I'd made a mistake - I just corrected the letter, attached the new spreadsheet and sent it off recorded delivery. Got a letter yesterday offering £1272 on a £1473 claim..
For information for everyone who's sent their 4th letter - I phoned 0800 881155 and a nice lady gave me 08456 0280066, they weren't much more help but said that my case was being dealt with and I would be contacted within 8 weeks which is their timescale. I pointed out that MY timescale was a response from them within 7 days or I would file a claim with the small claims court - 2 days letter I get the offer!
Sending the 5k biggy off to HSBC for the joint account tomorrow.
Good Luck everyone. And Thank you for everyone's help0 -
i was just wondering, i sent off my first letter asking for the charges back on 22/2 using the template letter without interest, if i do my next letter on friday using the template with the lower figure i will accept does it matter that i didnt ask for the interest back in my first one as this one asks for the interest too? we have heard nothing, have rang and they keep saying they are not up to date with opening their post. they should employ more people if they cant keep up!!!0

HI, I filed a court claim for 5k on Wednesday, and on the Thursday received a letter offering a partial payment of 3.5k with all the usual palava.
What do I do next?
I am NOT going to accept a paltry sum of 3.5k, the initial amount was 4.17k which was my initial request - after they dilly dallied and didnt respond I filed in the county court adding interest for 5k (rather than the actual figure 5.1k which wouldve taken me over the small claims track)
theyve had plenty of time to pay me back but are acting as if they're tight for cash or something.
What letter do I send next? or do I ignore them? or call them?
cheers0 -
Just thought Id let you guys know HSBC have made me an offer of £842, my original claim was for £1611 but apparently that includes some charges they wont rfuse, of course I will be refusing this offer and as my calculations show from the details they sent I am looking at £1400 ish and as I have already filed against them I might let it run and get the £1400 plus interest (I will be stat8ing this in my refusal to HSBC) Good luck to all and I hope they dont drag me through the courts, I just dont need the stress at the moment!!! I'll get you debts and your little dog too!!! :mad:And best of luck to all the other debt busters out there!!:beer:0

Send a letter back saying that you will accept 3.5k as part payment and that you will still be claiming 5k(inc interest and court costs). while you are at it send them a schedule of charges inc interest. Also send a copy to courts to add to your claim file."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

Hi
I'm just about to send my LBA to HSBC, where do I find which court to add?
I've just had the standard reply to my first letter for £2061.50. I phoned them to see if they were doing anything and was told it would take up to 8 weeks so I'm going ahead as planned. They've also charged me another £50 which I'm going to add to this letter.

HSBC also offered me £750 when the amount I am actually claiming back is £1200 I have turned this down and will continue to pursue it through the courts. HSBC have now said they are going to defend the claim and I have recently sent off my allocation questionnaire to the court.....im scared as can be that I might actually have to go the whole way with this and attend court but its a matter of principal now. The solicitors sent me a letter the other day asking me once again to send them a detailed list of the charges I am claiming, I wrote back and said I have already sent this to the bank twice therefore unless they have thrown away my intial letters they should be able to provide this information. I also added if they wish me to do their admin for them on behalf of their client I am happy to add an hourly rate on the amount that I am claiming back. Sure that probably isnt the best way to 'win friends and influence people' but they really annoy me as its stalling tactics all the way and im sick of them asking me for information I have already provided.......arghhhh! Fingers crossed this all gets sorted out as its starting to drive me crazy! Fingers crossed I dont have to go to court as that will be a nightmare.0 -
Can Anyone Help Me..
I Just Rang Up Hsbc As I Have Done On Several Occasions And I Got Told I Had To Ring The Claims Team On A Different Number, I Rang Up And They Wouldnt Speak To Me, They Said I Had To Give Them Mu `pass Code` I Said I Didnt Have One (which I Dont) And They Refused To Speak To Me..
They Said They Couldnt Explain Why I Had Been Spoken To On Several Other Occasions And The Man Was Quite Rude
Basically He Said If I Dont Have My Pass Code Then Theres No Way In Hell I Will Ever Be Able To Speak To Them!!
Im Fuming...i Dont Know Wether To Cry Or Scream
Does Anyone Know My Position On This, Can I Complain To The Ombudsman About Them??
I Remember When I Was Still A Hsbc Cumstomer And I Could Never Get Through On Telephone Bvanking Because Of This Stupid Code Which I Cannot Recall Giving .. I Must Have Been Into The Branch About 10 Times With My Id Etc. But It Still Never Worked
I Feel Like Going And Burning Down The Local Hsbc I Really Do X0
