    Agree, DKAM.

I paid out to have some double glazing fitted. I can't take that with me when we go, but had the benefit of it whilst here. Same with the kitchen work surfaces, the internal doors.

Over the years I've spent a fair bit here and will do in the new property. I may not own it, but it's my home.
Ooh are you moving? hope ur new place is nice for yo and the girls x
  • But why do you need all this extra support and being checked up on? I don't get that at all. Can't you not have it and pay a lower rent?

If he is using his house (or is it a flat your posts confuse me) to deal drugs from or allow people to take drugs from and the police are aware and involved then that is grounds for eviction and I would be pursuing that if I was you.

I can't help thinking that there is more to this than you are saying.

Sorry but I really have to disagree with your post,a couple of years ago my next door neighbour in a council house drove out my other next door neighbour in his bought property, with threats of firebombing his home with him his wife and three children in the house.

The council tenant grows vast amounts of SMELLY ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES(SKUNK) in his garden, which in the summer stinks the whole neighborhood, and everyone complains about the smell ,whilst he smokes it in the garden ,and he thinks no one can smell it,the thing is the local police are based about 300/400 feet away, but when he got raided by the pathetic police attempt to take away the smelly crap,he blamed my next door neighbour for telling the police and finally drove them out, completely out of the area:(

The smelly stinky neighbour got arrested, the police took away the smelly stinky plants he said for medical use only,it took two policemen to carry out each at least 6+ giant plantpots containing 5 foot plus high smelly plants, the whole street stunk as the police van drove away wafting the horrible stink across the estate within less than half an hour smelly neighbour was back home,I think he got very small fine, and today he is still stinking out the whole street.

The council phew not even intrested:mad:

The income is only sufficient to buy or privately rent because of where they live (no way would it be possible round here for example).

However the crux of the matter is the dreadful treatment of them by the council. Firstly by moving them out rather than moving the problem onto more separated accommodation where his "friends" will not bother the neighbours. Secondly not providing a suitable temporary accommodation where they could at least still keep the dog and thirdly charging an outrageous rent for forcing them into a dump. How they can do this I don't know & this is where the complaint really lies and this is what they should complain long and hard about.

Just because people live in social housing doesn't mean they should not care about their home and decorate accordingly. One thing that bugs me is those who do not care will get new kitchens because they are trashed. Where those who look after them have to wait. Surely it would be better to replace the looked after ones and give the second hand stuff to those who do not care.

    Oh absolutely!

A friend who I worked with has worked full time for God knows how long. She lives in a Council House and has looked after it very well over the years.

Last year the council were going around the area, replacing kitchens and bathrooms. Someone came out to see her but then she heard no more, so telephoned. She was told that there was nothing wrong with her kitchen and bathroom so they wouldn't be getting replaced.

She asked them that if she'd trashed them or hadn't looked after them, would they be getting replaced and she was told Yes.

    Disgusting it is.

    I hope so too, DKAM.

They have agreed to a priority move and said it will be within 6 months, so should be moved by middle of April, although I can't see that happening now.

We are moving to an adapted place - no idea if that will be a bungalow or not, but I do hope it's nice. Can only keep my fingers crossed and hope it doesn't take too long, as we are struggling here.

I also thought you needed heat to grow the stuff so it wouldn't produce much if grown in the garden, although I could be wrong.

Maybe the heat makes it grow quicker, which is what suppliers would do, and him growing it in the garden demonstrated that it 'could' be for medicinal purposes?

The OP's sums simply do not add up. Why are they running up debts? They have more than enough to live on.

You only need heat to force grow the new nasty stuff. Brothers ex kept one plant in the garden. ;)
